POWERPOINTS UPDATE – MARCH 2015
While Powerpoints members are still racing in the remaining OWS events, the focus for many is now on the MSA 40th National Championships to be held in Tasmania.
GVSS Presentation Night
We had a great show of Powerpointers at the GVSS Presentation night on Friday March 27, and to commemorate Charles Erasmus from Brighton Pier which was deeply moving and heartfelt.
The 2015 MSV Open Water Club Trophy was presented at the GVSS and saw the Powerpoints come third to the Dolphins and Boroughcoutas. Lisandra De Carvelho, Rosa Montague, Trevor Armstrong, Lindsey Crouch, Tim Boness and Doc Melinda Kemp (multiple awards) were up for individual awards.
Congratulations on a great season of Open Water. Whilst the conditions were often crappy with big swell, murky water and dumpy waves the company was always warm.
40th MSA Nationals – April 8-11
At the time of this report (hours before entries closed) 25 Powerpoints members were registered for the National Championships in Tasmania. A reminder that Nationals merchandise
can be ordered from the MSTas website until 6pm tonight.
Training
At upcoming Powerpoints training sessions, turns, speed and sprints are all on the agenda.
Our Head Coach, Brenton Ford has announced the dates for 2015 HELL WEEK 9-14th March.
Unfortunately this will not in Thailand this time, so is probably going to actually be hell!
Time Trials will also be held on Thursday April 2nd at 6.30pm at MSAC.
Marathon Man
Head Coach, Brenton Ford, whilst busy prepping us for Nationals has also been a busy man. Brenton recently completed his first Marathon at Wangaratta - North East Victoria in a fast 3 hours and ten minutes. Congratulations!
