Massey University advises that late applications to attend a ceremony may not be able to be processed. Refer to note on page 2.

The number of guest seats we can allocate to you depends on the size of the ceremony you attend. We will try to accommodate all requests, but the normal provision of up to three guests per graduand may apply when the ceremony is near capacity.

CELEBRATION TO HONOUR MĀORI AND PASIFIKA GRADUATES (Not available for November Graduation)
Provision exists for Māori and Pasifika Graduates to attend both the Massey University Graduation Ceremony, as well as attend a Celebration to Honour Māori and Pasifika Graduates.
If you wish to only attend the Celebration to Honour Māori or Pasifika Graduates (option 1B) you will have your award(s) made
“in Absentia” (not attend the Massey University Graduation Ceremony in person). Your scroll will be sent to you after the ceremony.
Acknowledgement: All applications will be sent an acknowledgement email within 10 days after the application is received by Academic Services.
This letter can be used for immigration purposes. If you are attending a ceremony and have applied early, then the letter will be sent approx 4 months before the ceremony date.
Late Applications: If your application is received after the closing date, we may be unable to process your application in time for your nominated graduation ceremony. Please contact Academic Services before you apply late at graduation.office@massey.ac.nz
Withdraw: You can withdraw from attending a ceremony up to a month before the first ceremony date, after this time you cannot withdraw. If you do not attend, you will be conferred in “in Absentia” and will be unable to attend a ceremony for the same qualification at a later date.
Guest Seating: Guest seating will be confirmed in your graduation pack sent by Events Management approximately 3-4 weeks prior to the ceremony.
Extra seats are also arranged by Events Management and will not be confirmed until approximately 2 weeks prior to the ceremony.
November Ceremony: Numbers are strictly limited for the November Graduation Ceremonies; please ensure you apply early. If you have not been formally cleared by the 1st of October you will not be able to attend the November Ceremony.
Academic Board Meeting: All scrolls that are conferred through the Academic Board Meeting will be couriered within New Zealand using track and trace. Please advise us if you have not received your scroll within 15 days of the meeting.
Sending Scrolls Overseas: You will be required to pay a $30.70 courier fee if you want your scroll sent to an overseas address. Please complete the overseas scroll address payment form and include it with your application. Forms can be downloaded from http://www.massey.ac.nz/massey/student- life/graduation/overseas-scroll.cfm or by calling 0800 MASSEY (0800 62 77 39)
Replacement Scroll: If you don’t receive your scroll you MUST notify us within 4 months of your graduation or you will be required to pay a fee of $95.60.
