ROYALTIES FOR REGIONS INVESTMENT MAP – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What does the map include?
The map is a representation of all projects that have received Royalties for Regions funding across regional Western Australia since the program began in 2008.
While every effort has been made to capture and locate all Royalties for Regions investment, it is possible that not all projects are available or captured accurately on the map. Projects that span across multiple regions and towns or are service based are difficult to locate geographically.

How often is the map updated?
The investment data will be updated regularly to include new investments as they are approved.
Can I change the view of my map?
Yes, you can. You can view the map via the default Satellite Imagery view or by changing to Street view in the top left corner of the map.
How can I search for a project?
You can search for Royalties for Regions projects by:
Selecting ‘Project Search’ in the side bar and typing in a project name
Drilling down by themes such as Health, Tourism or Agriculture
Typing in a location in the search field on the map or by simply zooming in on your town on the map.
What do the icons mean?
All Royalties for Regions projects have been assigned a theme or category that best describes the desired project outcome or impact. The icons represent the various project themes.
Does this information include State-wide programs?
Yes. Where possible, projects have been assigned a specific location on the map.
However, projects that have an impact across a whole local government area or region or the State are reflected in the ‘Statewide and Regional Projects’ tab located on the sidebar.
The ‘Statewide and Regional Projects’ will update to only display those projects relevant to the area of the State being viewed.

What is Royalties for Regions?
Royalties for Regions underpins the State Government's long-term commitment to developing Western Australia's regional areas into vibrant regions with strong economies.
Royalties for Regions is a dedicated regional development investment fund established by the Royalties for Regions Act 2009 topromote and facilitate economic, business and social development in regional Western Australia.
In each financial year, an amount equal to 25 per cent of the State’s forecast royalty income is credited to the Royalties for Regions Fund.
Since December 2008, Royalties for Regions has invested over $6.9 billion across more than 4,700 locations in regional Western Australia.
This commitment is making a difference in the everyday lives of regional Western Australians across the State.
How do I access Royalties for Regions funding?
Royalties for Regions investment decisions are guided by the strategic priorities outlined in the Regional Development Strategy 2016-2025 and the Regional Investment Blueprints prepared by each of the nine Regional Development Commissions.
