SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIPS OF VICTORIA 2018/19 CONDITIONS OF PLAY

All matches will be played in accordance with Laws of the Sport of Bowls Crystal Mark 3rd Edition and the Bowls Victoria 2018-19 State Championship Events Conditions of Play, except where noted below.

Controlling Body: Metro West Bowls Region Championship Committee Events: Men’s Singles Championship of Victoria 2018/19 &

Women’s Singles Championship of Victoria 2018/19

Dates: Entries close: Sunday 18th November 2018 Knockout rounds commence: Sunday 2nd December 2018 Subsequent play: Sunday 16th December 2018 Venues: As determined by the Controlling Body.

Starting times: Play will commence at 10 am on each day.

Entry Conditions

Open to all female (Women’s Championship) and male (Men’s Championship) Bowls Victoria affiliated bowlers.

Late Entries

Entries received after the Closing Date on the entry form may be accepted at the discretion of the Controlling Body. Entries received after publication of the draw will NOT be accepted.

Format of Play

All games 25 up knockout. Not more than three rounds will be played on each day.

Trial Ends

Two trial ends are permitted prior to each game (Law 5.1).

Player Protection

Players due to participate in a higher-level event on the same day as that scheduled for play can apply to the Controlling Body for protection. If the event cannot be rescheduled, then the participant concerned will have to decide which event to contest.

Losing Players to Mark

Losing players are required to make themselves available to mark a game in the round following the round in which they were eliminated, if held on the same day at the same venue. Metro West Bowls Region Championship Committee delegates the choice of players required to mark to the Venue Manager. Losing players must remain at the venue until dismissed by the Venue Manager or until all games in the following round have commenced. (Bowls Victoria 2018-19 State Championship Events Conditions of Play Rule 6.2).

Players who fail to comply with this condition of play will be deemed to be in breach of Rule 33 of Bowls Victoria 2018-19 State Championship Events Conditions of Play and subject to a $50 fine.

Players with Byes to Mark

Players with a bye are required to make themselves available to mark a game in the round prior to the round in which they play, if held on the same day at the same venue. Metro West Bowls Region

Championship Committee will advise players required to mark at least twenty-four hours prior to the commencement of the game which they are to mark. Players will be advised through their club.

Players who fail to comply with this condition of play will be deemed to be in breach of Rule 33 of Bowls Victoria 2018-19 State Championship Events Conditions of Play and subject to a $50 fine.

Venue Manager

Each host Club will appoint a Venue Manager for each day of play.

Determination of Rinks for Play

The Controlling Body delegates determination of the rinks for play to the Venue Manager.

The Controlling Body has the right to alter the conditions of play if necessary.
