POLICY – State Dress Policy

Authority: Women’s Bowls NSW

Applies to: All affiliated members of WBNSW Updated: March 2015

All members of affiliated clubs shall wear regulation State Uniform when playing on any green in Women’s Bowls NSW controlled matches and competitions. When playing in any other game or competition, smart casual attire must be worn in accordance with your club’s Smart Casual Dress Policy. If the registered club does not have one, then perhaps it could be done for this purpose. The BA LOGO is not essential on apparel worn for social bowls. Women’s Bowls NSW has no jurisdiction over attire worn when playing in events run by men’s bowling clubs.

For Association Championships at Club, District or Regional levels, and Pennants including all Playoffs

• Affiliated players must be in approved white, navy or coloured above and below waist garments as registered with the Association.

• Approved coloured shirts can be worn with white, navy or approved coloured below waist garments.

• Approved coloured below waist garments can only be worn with club approved shirts

• All team/side members to be dressed in the same uniform. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE VESTS, JACKETS, SHOES, HEADWEAR OR COMPRESSION GARMENTS.

• Composite teams competing in the State Carnival may wear their respective Club uniforms.

• BA logo must be on uniform, for all state sanctioned events, on both upper &

lower body attire.

As per BA Policy, team wear is recognised under two categories, upper body attire and lower body attire.

Upper body attire includes: Lower body attire includes:

• all shirts (including sleeve, sleeveless, and collar)

• tops

• blouses

• jackets

• vests (on replacement)

• cardigans (on replacement)

• pants

• trousers (belt, elastic or draw string waist)

• pedal pushers

• culottes

• shorts

• skirts

• skorts

• slack suits

• skirt suits

• dresses

Socks & Headwear

Socks may be white or colour co-ordinated or have the BA logo on them.

Headwear is optional, however Women’s Bowls NSW recommends that it be worn as protection from the sun.

WOMEN’S BOWLS NSW DRESS REGULATIONS

All Club and District Executive coloured uniforms require approval from the State Association – to be submitted with photo and details of colour, design and name of manufacturer to Women’s Bowls NSW uniform committee. District uniforms should be worn by Executives only and does not have to be in white.

Length – lower attire garments should be worn as close to the knee as possible.

Logos/Monograms – sponsor’s, manufacturer’s and club logos may be used on all garments.

Shoes

Footwear must be as approved by Bowls Australia.

Badges

Should be worn with discretion.

Wind or wet weather jackets

Jackets may be white or navy or co-ordinated with your club uniform (as approved by the Association), all with BA logo affixed on replacement.

Undergarments

Undergarments (including compression) should be white or colour co-ordinated with the approved club uniform.

Special Requests

Special requests should be referred to the Uniform Committee of Women’s Bowls NSW. Wherever possible, Women’s Bowls NSW will adhere to the Bowls Australia Dress Policy (available from the BA website).

Accredited National Umpires

Umpires shirts as approved by Women’s Bowls NSW must be worn by accredited umpires when officiating at District, Regional or State Events.

Controlling Bodies

As the Controlling Body for all Club, District and State Championships, Pennants and other State run events, the Association sets the Dress Code.

For any Club Carnival, Gala Day or Tournament the Controlling Body Of the event should state dress requirements on the entry forms to avoid confusion.
