MELBOURNE H2O UPDATE – FEBRUARY 2015
Swimming Victoria appoints master CEO
Gillian O’Mara who has been an active MH2O committee member, club member with both Masters Victoria and Swimming Victoria, squad member and all round swimming legend has been sitting on the Board of Swimming Victoria for the last 12 months. She has recently been appointed CEO of Swimming Victoria after an extensive head hunt. For the full article on her appointment please CLICK HERE.
I believe this is an incredible opportunity for Swimming in Victoria as I know Gill is keen to rectify some of the issues we have been dealing with at a club level as a “ONE” club, and to promote swimming as a 'sport for life'. We look forward to Swimming Victoria moving into a new era with innovation and dynamic leadership. It will also be fantastic to have a swimmer head up the organisation who understands things from a swimmer’s perspective and at grass roots levels. We wish her all the best in her new role and look forward to working closely with her in future.
