UCENZ - How we work with Third Party Providers

Universities Careers and Employability New Zealand (UCENZ) is a professional network that collaborates to promote and support career development and employability of university students. The UCENZ leadership group is made up of Heads of Service of central career and employability services within each University.

Core to supporting career development and employability of university students is ensuring that quality and transparent services are provided and that opportunities are presented to all students.

Increasingly, commercial third party providers (employers, agencies, organisations or individuals recruiting students for employment opportunities other than for their own needs) are seeking to engage with students in the career development and

employability arena, and are doing so outside of university career services. We strive to ensure:

• Services and opportunities to students are of sufficient quality (if held or advertised on campus, carrying implied University endorsement).

• Employer relationships are developed with universities and a variety of opportunities created.

UCENZ members work with third party providers in the following way:

• Third party providers are vetted by the Careers Service and deemed to be of value to our students, and terms and conditions of services offered are understood.

• Third party providers are strongly encouraged to advertise opportunities on NZUniCareerHub, providing full employer details.

• Attendance at Career Fairs and campus events are at the discretion of career services on each campus and is subject to the third party provider providing names and details of employers they are representing.
