Yarra Triathlon - Swim Squad Coach
Yarra Leisure prides itself in providing one of the leading leisure services in Melbourne across its four centers;
Richmond Recreation Centre, Fitzroy Swimming Pool, Collingwood Leisure Centre and Burney Golf Course.
Yarra Leisure’s Triathlon program has over 200 active participants and includes over 20 coached swim, cycle and run sessions each week. We are the key training provider for the YarraTri Club and Yarra Roughies Masters Swim Club.
We are currently seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and enthusiastic swim coaches to join our coaching team.
Permanent Weekly Coaching Position
The permanent weekly coaching position involves coaching weekly squad sessions throughout the year and being responsible for the programming of the session.
There are currently two permanent weekly coaching positions available;
Fitzroy Swimming Pool - Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning 6:00am - 7:30am
Richmond Recreation Centre - Wednesday and Friday morning 6:00am - 7:30am
Additional coaching hours can be gained through stroke correction courses, one-on-one sessions and involvement in seminars. The starting wage for this role is $35.00 - $40.00 per hour but is negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.
Essential requirements of this role include;
Coaching accreditation (Bronze license minimum)
First Aid & CPR
Working with Children’s Check
Insurance
ABN
Desired skills include;
Good communication skills
Strong customer service focus
Understanding of periodisation principles
Experience coaching swimmers of varying abilities
Experience coaching squads with over 25 swimmers
Experience in programming sessions for triathletes, masters swimmers and recreational swimmers
