I am Md Jahidul Haque [Id and I am currently doing a project under your supervision on “Customer Behavior in Online Food Shopping in Bangladesh”. This project allowed me to understand the current behavior of customers in online food shopping and its impact on the economy of Bangladesh and to understand the perspective of customers in online shopping. Online food delivery services in Bangladesh have become increasingly popular in recent years and this trend is set to continue. Using a quantitative approach, this study aims to investigate how Bangladeshi consumers behave towards online food delivery services, analyze their demographics and examine their post-purchase behavior to gain insight into the factors that have contributed to the expansion of the market from a consumer perspective.

Background of the Study

The few reports currently available analyze online food delivery services as a subset of the takeout industry; therefore, the recommendations from these reports are always generalized to the takeaway sector as a whole, which includes customers who enter a restaurant to purchase food before leaving the premises and consuming it, as well as customers who place an online order but visit a brick-and-mortar restaurant, to take it over. The purpose of this study is to understand the behavior of Bangladeshi customers when it comes to online food ordering and delivery service usage.

Literature Review

The rise of internet food delivery services in Malaysia can be attributed to the evolving urban customer. The use of food delivery services has changed consumer behavior so much, especially among metropolitan customers, that it has become commonplace and commonplace. According to a market report written by Emma McGeown for MINTEL in 2019 on Ireland, third-party apps and websites are largely responsible for the growth of takeaway and online food delivery services.

Food delivery firms in India have limited their expansion to newer areas due to the overwhelming volume of requests and are now focusing exclusively on achieving operational productivity and effectiveness in tier 1 cities. Online Food Delivery Services in Thailand they offer their customers very fast delivery by skilled workers. Many people like this food delivery option as it gives them the opportunity to continue working while having access to fresh and healthy food at their homes or offices.

The key question is whether employees will return to their offices in Germany, where online food delivery customers work in real offices. How easy it is to order and buy food through retailer websites has a significant impact on online food buyers. Online meal delivery services are a practical choice for many city dwellers who lead busy lives.

Many people like this food delivery option as it allows them to continue working while having access to fresh and healthy food in their home or office. This has the added advantage that city dwellers can use online food delivery services after a long day at the office, opting to return home and relax instead. Since customers can buy food without leaving their home or office, it is clear that online food delivery services offer convenience and time savings for them.

Due to this, most of the individuals in the world are now using online food delivery services more often and believe that they are also saving their time, money and effort. Online food delivery (OFD) services are a newly growing trend in the food and beverage sector in Malaysia. Online food ordering is the new dining out, and it's not just limited to takeout and dining out.

There are several food delivery companies in Malaysia, many of which offer online delivery services. Online food ordering services are now simple and convenient for customers who want food delivered to their doorstep thanks to the advancements in e-commerce.

Purpose Statement

Irish consumers are getting older and younger, making it difficult for business owners to be "all things to all customers", as younger people are more likely to use technology-enabled solutions, while older people like to use restaurants in more traditional ways. Most individuals in India prefer to use a smartphone app to place food orders online; however, other Indians prefer to use a web browser. With the advent of smartphones in India, more and more people are choosing to perform daily tasks using mobile apps.

These mobile apps can generate better results and make food ordering a simple process because of the personalized offer based on the consumer's preferences. The advent of the internet in recent times has boosted e-commerce sectors in countries like India. Although consumers still go out to eat, they find it quite convenient to order food online, saving them from having to go to restaurants in person.

More and more people are choosing to use mobile apps for everyday tasks as the number of smartphones increases. Being "all things to all consumers" is challenging for operators as consumers are getting older and younger. Older consumers tend to use restaurants in a more traditional way, while younger consumers prefer technology-enabled solutions.

Methodology

Data Collection Method: Data was collected by making questionnaires in Google form survey and sending links of the survey to the selected samples who are daily internet users and buy from the internet on a regular or very little basis.

From the above statistical data, it can be interpreted that 2.5% of the population were workers, 29.5% were office workers, 54.8% were students, 3.3% were housewives, and 10% of the population were other job holders. From the above statistical data, it can be interpreted that 79.7% of the population likes to order food online, 9.5% does not like to order food online and 10.8% of the population might like to order food online. It can be inferred from the above data analysis that 1.3% of respondents use UberEats the most while ordering food online, 2.5% use HungryNaki, 15.1% use PathaoFood, 0.8%.

The frequency table and pie chart above show that 85% believe the most preferred way of ordering food online is through an app, 2.9% believe an online website, 9.2% believe Facebook page/Instagram page and 2.9% in other ways. The level of significance shows that independent variables are significantly related to customer intent (dependent variable) at the alpha = 0.05 level.

Suggestions & Recommendations

Online shopping allows me to save money as I don't have to pay shipping costs. Online shopping allows me to buy the same or similar products at cheaper prices than traditional retail stores. Shopping via the Internet is more convenient compared to traditional retail.

I will always be able to find my preferred food while ordering food through online. It's easy to find my preferred restaurants on food apps, websites and Facebook pages. The family or friends influenced my decision to make purchases through the Internet. (Subjective norm).
