SET-A

Answer to the following questions: 3*5=15

i) At what velocity and angle of projection a projectile is to be projected to make its horizontal range 84.5m and the time of flight 5.3s.

ii)

An object is moving along straight line according to equation, S= {(1/6 t-6) s-4 +(5t)s-1 }m. Find its acceleration after 4s.

iii) The equation of a progressive wave is y=5sin (200 πt-1.57x), Here all the quantities are expressed in S.I unit. Find the amplitude, frequency, velocity and time period of the wave.

iv) A wheel is rotating at 14 rads-1 angular velocity considering a certain axis as center and its kinetic energy is 27j. Calculate the moment of inertia of the wheel with respect to the rotational axis.

v) A certain force is applied on a body of mass 40kg at rest. The velocity of the body becomes 14ms-1 after 2s. How much force is acted on the body and what is its kinetic energy after 4s?

Answer to the following questions: 5*2=10

i) Circular water waves decrease in amplitude as they move away from where a rock is dropped. Explain why.

ii) Is it possible for velocity to be constant while acceleration is not zero?

Explain.

iii) If the instantaneous velocity is zero, what can be said about the slope of the position function?

iv) Acceleration is the change in velocity over time. Given this information, is acceleration a vector or a scalar quantity? Explain.

v) A baseball bat is swung. Do all points on the bat have the same angular velocity?
