In this research, a vertical axis wind turbine has been designed and manufactured to do the job of extracting energy from wind. However, vertical axis wind turbines (VAWT) are capable of producing a lot of power and offer many advantages over (HAWT). The main objective of this project is to design and build a self-starting vertical axis wind turbine to operate under low wind speed.

Germany and France also tested innovative wind energy technologies, but cheap fossil fuels at the time quickly crippled the wind energy market (Park 1981).

The result of the wind source assessment is therefore an estimate of the average wind climate at one or more locations in the form of: • wind direction probability distribution (wind flower), which shows the frequency of wind direction distribution at the location. , i.e. wind resource assessment provides important input for the siting, sizing and detailed design of a wind farm, and these inputs are exactly what the WAsP software provides. This will provide estimates for each wind turbine site of the 50-year extreme wind, vertical wind shear profile, flow and terrain slope angles, freestream turbulence, wind speed probability distributions, and added turbulence.
Wind energy is the conversion of wind energy using wind turbines into a usable form, such as electrical or mechanical energy. Bangladesh is in the midst of a severe energy and power supply crisis, one of the worst in South Asia. Bangladesh has a coastline of 724 km and many small islands in the Bay of Bengal, where there is a strong southwest trade wind and sea breeze in the summer months and a mild northeast trade wind and land breeze in the winter months [11].
The wind speed in the northeastern parts of Bangladesh exceeds 4.5 m/s, while the wind speed in the other parts of the country is around 3.5 m/s [10,12]. In another project, the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) implemented a 0.90 MW capacity of grid-connected wind power (GCWE) in Muhuri Dam areas in Feni district in 2004. For example, the generation of electricity from wind energy can be realized in coastal areas. sent to other regions of the country via the high-voltage lines.
Over the lifetime of wind turbines, very little operation and maintenance will be required and no fuel will be needed to generate electricity from the wind [15].
Objective 5
Most of the research on the wind turbines is condition monitoring and performance optimization of VAWTs under a constant air speed, where the transient effects are not taken into account. The wind turbine systems can be classified as the vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) based on the direction of the axis of rotation. The performance of wind turbines largely depends on the torque output, which further depends on the torque generating ability of the rotor.
TSR is the ratio of the rotational speed of the tip of the blade to the actual speed. One technique to reduce vibration is to reduce the rotational speed of the turbine by increasing the rigidity of the turbine. The high-speed shaft of the gearbox is coupled to the rotor of the generator, causing the electric generator to run at a higher speed.
In order to maintain the uniformity of the output power of the alternator, the excitation must be controlled according to the availability of natural wind energy. The variety of possible rotor configurations is another advantage of using such a machine. Now let's look at the second type, which is also the most popular of the two.
In this process, a high-strength shaft with a plastic pulley was recessed into the hole of the thick. The height of the shaft is 51.2 cm with a blade of 73.5 cm and a shaft diameter of 1.7 cm. The shaft pulley has two options for changing the diameter 4cm-2cm and also the generator pulley. it has two options of changing the diameter 2 cm-4 cm. The toothed shaft acts as a countersink tool. Here the engine size is L 75mm and D 25mm. The motor can produce 220 V of energy as an output if it can rotate at 1500 rpm. The motor is connected to the shaft with a belt. It has a pulley attached to Because the speed of the battery increases the power and power of the motor. The height and diameter of the turbine varied between 1.89 and 2.54 m, depending on the aspect ratio.

Performance gains of up to 50% for tip speed ratio of maximum average power coefficient are also reported when using stators. A Savonius vertical axis wind turbine is a slow rotating, high torque machine with two or more blades and is used in high reliability and low efficiency power turbines. Several models have relied on elemental, proximal, structural, physical, and chemical analyzes to determine the values of necessary variables, although those based on the results of the first two types of analysis were the most popular.
In conclusion, the paper presents the state-of-the-art in thermochemical and biochemical technologies for converting rice husks and rice straw into energy. When the V-belt with the pulley-shaped hole was reinforced with the engine pulley, the tensile strength of the joint was one times that of a joint made by metal cutting. In a plastic V-belt pulley support structure of a turbine shaft, in which a plastic V-belt pulley is supported by a hollow shaft member and a V-belt pulley support member, shaft wheel and generator pulley with a diameter of 4 cm and 2 cm, respectively, connected with a belt distance of 4.5 cm.
A groove is formed on an end face of the holed shaft member, where the holed shaft member and the plastic pulley support member are coupled together by inserting a connecting edge formed by plastically deforming an inner peripheral edge of a hole formed in the guide pulley support member , into the groove. The main shaft and the generator are connected by a rubber V-belt; where the fast shafts are again rotationally connected to the individual electric generator. The shaft and alternator pulley are 1:2, this means that when the shaft will rotate 1 rpm, the alternator will rotate 2 rpm.
An improved energy storage wind turbine apparatus comprises a turbine rotor having a rotatable vertical axis, at least one bearing for said vertical axis, and rotor blades symmetrically disposed for rotation about the vertical axis.

Basically the words tachometer and speedometer have identical meaning a device that I have a safer speed. it is by arbitrary convention that in the automotive world it is used for engine speed and others for vehicle speed. Small wind turbines can be attractive from many points of view: the environmental impact is low; they do not cause instability in the power grid distribution and do not need large energy storage capacities. However, the use of small turbines usually faces some drawbacks and the actual return is often lower than expected, mainly because the power curve given by the manufacturer usually does not reproduce the actual behavior of the turbines during operating conditions.
Using high-resolution wind speed and energy production measurements, this paper presents an in situ experimental analysis of two small size wind turbines with the same rated power, placed in the same urban environment and realized with vertical and horizontal axis respectively. The detected power production is discussed, showing the mutual strengths and weaknesses of the two technologies, focusing on the role of the technical characteristics and control apparatus on the one hand and of the incoming wind conditions and turbulence on the other. From our experimental analysis, we found good performance, its power increases with airspeed.
The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of various design parameters on the performance of a vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) subjected to realistic unsteady wind conditions. The moment of inertia of the turbine was calculated using a computer-aided design drawing of the turbine, together with realistic material properties of the blades, shafts and supports. The difference between the sites in terms of energy captured relative to available energy in the gust averaged only about 5% and increased slightly with turbine moment of inertia.
It is believed that VAWTs could also economically harvest wind energy in the city center if the turbines were placed higher than 9 meters, such as on the roofs of commercial/residential buildings.
