DEFINITION
CHAPTER ONE
East India Company Period (1764-1857)
1784 and another during 1787-1788 followed by excessive floods Dhaka suffered heavy casualties in the above periods, the 18th century Industrial Revolution in Europe brought about a decline in Dhaka's foreign trade of products. With the growth of Calcutta, business centers began to move 10 Calcutta followed by the flight of capital and labor from Dhaka, Decline in economy, population and administrative importance and brought shrinkage in the Dhaka city area According to Rennell the Dhaka city area, at that time was expanding. from Nawabgong to Sutrapur Iron Bridge and from Bunganga River to Nimtali Khoti (Islam, 1971).
British period (1858-1947)
BangJabazar was also redeveloped as a retail mall in the later part of British rule (Khan& Islam, 1964). To provide some policy planning guidelines for the appropriate location of kucha bazaars in the future development of the city.
CHAPTER TWO
Ahmed (1989) in his study identified and defined the various market centers found in the main streets of Gaya city in India. The study showed that most bazaars have grown spontaneously without any conscious planning and government assistance. As a result, most of the bazaars are in very bad shape and the government is being deprived of huge amount of revenue.
The location of the markets should be determined after performing COlint tratlics on the hotspots. A study of the centrality of Markct cemers as a planning tool.” Her study was also of an alien type and recommends better use of commercial structure to overcome the stress and disequilibrium problems prevalent in market centers. Akin (1964) studied “Evolution and Analysis”. retail structures of Lagos, Nigeria” The study found that markets are specialized retail centres.
CHAPTER THREE
We first measure the distance between each point and its nearest neighbor point and then calculate the average distance of the nearest neighbor from fonn.da. The basic idea of nearest neighbor analysis is that we compare the observed average nearest neighbor distance (do) to the expected one (d) for an infinite number of points in a randomly distributed pattern. The average nearest neighbor distance for a random arrangement can be calculated from the following equation'.
Where Dran is the expected average nearest neighbor distance for a random dot arrangement, P is the density of dots per unit area (number of dots divided by area). The nearest neighbor index is simply the average nearest neighbor distance divided by the expected average nearest neighbor dimension for a random arrangement. Where R is the nearest neighbor index, Dobs is the observed mean nearest neighbor distance, and Dran is the expected mean nearest neighbor distance for a random arrangement of points.
I Figure 7 : Zone Wise Dee Area
The new town (Zone 8 and zone 10) which developed after 1960 consists of nine City Corporation wards and has the lowest number of authorized Kutcha Bazars. One important thing is that most of the Authorized Kutcha Bazars are located around the old city and relatively new town contains very few Authorized Kutcha Bazars. Among them, the maximum number of authorized Kutcha Bazars were in ward 73 and 79.
Population of Dhaka Cuy Corporation is 6 million (World Bank Interim Report, 1999). All public services including Kutcha bazaar are far below the required level. In this study it is found that an authorized Kutcha bazaar serves an average O.75-kHometer distance from the distance of the respondents viz. average service area is 0.75 km. From this perspective, a map with a scrvicc arca of 0.75 km, radius was created in the center of each authorized Kutcha Bazar of the City to identify the areas served by a particular authorized Kutcha Bazar.
CHAPTER FOUR
Buyers of unauthorized kutcha bazaars are moderately well off 011:compared to the per capita income of Bangladesh. 2999 and reported in Table-4. Thus the middle class (businessmen and service holders) constitute the major part of the authorized buyers of Kutcha Bazars. Source Field Survey, 2000 The table above reveals that the majority (573 percent) of respondents want their shopping within 0.SKm-1 Km.
From the sample survey (Table 4.4) the IS is that 58.7 percent of the buyers buy all items of products from the unauthorized kucha bazaar About 20.0 percent of the buyers buy fish, meat and vegetables from that bazaar. From the survey, it can be seen that most of the buyers buy their daily needs from the roadside bazaar from the unauthorized bazaar. According to the survey data, it is found that the average travel time of the respondents in the study area, to communicate from the residence to the bazaar is about 6 years.
CHAPTER FIVE
Table 5.1 found that about 42.67 percent of salespeople have a primary level of education. About 40 percent of the vendors were illiterate. Most of the unauthorized markets of kutch are located along the main road or at road junctions. Most of the unauthorized kutcha hazar vendors use illegal lighting. The survey found that 480 percent use electricity, 30.7 percent use lamps, and 21.3 percent use hurricanes. Those who use lamps and hurricanes are floating sellers.
It was found that most of the vendors opt for unauthorized kutcha bazaars because they are unable to pay the rent. Most of the unauthorized bazaars of Kutch are controlled by Musdeman and local DCC commissioners (Source: Daily Newspapers). Some of the unauthorized bazaars of Kutch are well eMabli~hed and some are movable. Source: Field Survey, 2000 It is observed that vendors of unauthorized kuteha markets are facing some problems as shown in Table 5.8.

FACTORS INFLUENCING THE GROWTH FACTORS OF UNAUTHORIZED KUTCHA BAZARS
- Factors influencing the growth factors of Unauthorized Kutcha ba:zars There are many factors influencing the growth and location of unauthorized kutcha
- Authorized bazar is far way
- Suitable Site
- Nearness to Residellce
- Nearness to roadway
The fifth factor for the growth of unauthorized lrutcha bazaar is the presence of availability of daily necessities Most of the unauthorized kutcha bazaar have grown up near the important side of the location namely Bangladesh Bank, Dilkusha area, Jatrabari area, Azimpur -cemetery area, Khilgaon rail gate area , Post bag rail gate area etc. Buyers always want their goods closer to their hands. Available transport day lilies are very important for the growth of unauthorized Kutcha Bazar Market can be local or regional. The seventh factor for the growth of authorized kutcha bazaars is concerned with low price. The sellers of unauthorized kutcha bazaars can sell their products at a low rate compared to authorized kutcha bazaars because they do not have to pay higher rent and more labor person.
The least rent factor is the eighth factor for the growth of the unauthorized market of kucha, Mos. In unauthorized market of Imtcha, in their opinion they said that they need less manpower and less rent for sausage, otherwise in authorized market of kucha they need more manpower and high rent to continue the business Theirs. Unauthorized kucha bazaar sellers require less capital because their business is small. They carry their goods from the nearest authorized kucha bazaar. .
CHAPTER SEVEN
- General background information of the study area
- Location
- Present condition and the causes of growth of Rampura unauthorized kutcha balar
- Opinion of buyers about facilities (Kutcha Bazar)
UNDP (1984) stated that the space required for a standard market is about 0.98 hectares per 25,000 population, but after the survey it is revealed that the total population of Rampura is currently about 2 8 shortfalls and that only one authorized Kutcha Bazar is there, In the study area. Some of the respondents mentioned that there is no available space in Authorized Kutcha Bazar, even they are unable to pay rent. They can run their business smoothly which is not possible in authorized Kutcha Bazar (Because in that bazar they need small amount of working capital and they can buy their goods daily).
The operating cost is relatively higher in the authorized kucha bazaar, )- The price level of daily necessities (vegetables, fish, meat, fruits .. and other food items) in this unauthorized kucha bazaar is relatively cheaper , which attracts a large number of buyers. Buyers are requested to give their opinion on the condition of Kutcha Unauthorized Bazar premises. People were quite satisfied with the current situation in the city of Dhaka. But there is only one authorized Kutcha hazar, in the entire area, which is not enough at all As a result, the unauthorized Kutcha hazar is located on the road side of Rampura main road, some leaders of Mastans I have been involved in increasing this unauthorized. Kutcha Bazaar This unauthorized kutcha bazaar is mainly in the morning hours (7 a, m-ll a m.) and in the evening hours (5 p.m., m- 7 p.m.).

Recommendations
Considering the geographical factors and problems identified in this research related to location selection and growth of unauthorized kutcha bazaars, some policies are formulated to improve the existing situation prevailing in unauthorized kutcha bazaars. From a planning point of view, proper location of unauthorized bazaars of Kutch should be considered first to achieve a balanced distribution throughout the community. For a balanced distribution of authorized Kutch bazaars, each ward of the city should contain authorized Kuteha bazaars.
