Internship Opportunity

Centre for Peace and Justice

Position Title: Intern (Research) Starting from: March, 2023 Work Station: Dhaka, Bangladesh Duration: 3 Months

BACKGROUND:

Centre for Peace and Justice (CPJ) is a multidisciplinary academic institute, which promotes global peace and social justice through quality education, research, training and advocacy. CPJ is committed to identifying and promoting sustainable and inclusive solutions to a wide range of global concerns and issues, including fragility, conflict and violence.

CPJ is pleased to offer an internship opportunity to aspiring researchers. The intern will be able to gain experience in working with a multidisciplinary academic institute. After successfully completing the internship, he/she will have strengthened knowledge in research areas focusing on peace and fragility, social justice and open society, as well as professional skills in communication, capacity development and material development according to the Terms of Reference stated below.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Report to Director, Research, CPJ;

 Provide research, writing and editing support;

 Assist CPJ Research Team with scheduling, transcription and translation;

 Assist implementing the assigned research project;

 Prepare relevant communications materials;

 Other relevant tasks as deemed necessary by the Director, Research, CPJ.

DELIVERABLES:

 Prepare daily timesheets

 Complete all assigned tasks (e.g., interview notes)

 Prepare an internship report at the end of the internship

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

 Minimum – Bachelor’s Degree (completed or in final year) in Humanities/Social Sciences with a preference to majoring in English, Economics, Law, Sociology, Political Science, etc.;

 Research experience, especially qualitative field survey(s) will be preferred;

 An understanding of basic research methodologies, quantitative & qualitative tools;

 Analytical writing skills in both English and Bangla;

 Good communication skills in English and Bangla will be preferred.
