1 Job Title: HEAD OF REGISTRY PLANNNING AND INFORMATION
Position Purpose
To manage the Planning and Information Unit within the Registry
To oversee the creation, development, collection, organization, interpretation, distribution and evaluation of data, information and reports useful for effective assessment of student learning outcomes, policy and planning formulation and decision making
To support good practice in data governance and maintenance of data quality
The post holder will act as a senior member of the Academic Office within the Registry
Organizational Relationships
Position Type: Regular Employment Reporting to: Registrar
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Must return to duty whenever needed.
Functional Relationships:
1. Internal Contacts: Students, Alumni, Faculty, Staff.
2. External Contacts: External authorities

1.0 Key Accountabilities
1.1 Specific Duties & Responsibilities
1.1.1 To conduct studies for enrollment and registration forecasting, faculty workload and staffing patterns, teaching activities, credit hours, student retention, progression and achievement, grading, student characteristics, resource allocation, demographic information, programme markets, student learning and other studies which may help the institution understand the dynamics of the student body and identify any changes or trends
1.1.2 To prepare statistical reports as required by external authorities
1.1.3 To serve as the institutional source for most official statistics, data and information reports
1.1.4 To assist the schools and support departments with information and data requirements relating to student data: determining needs, developing clear objectives and questions, collecting and refining data, producing descriptive and inferential analyses, synthesizing and presenting findings and developing data solutions to ensure that colleagues have the information and data they need
1.1.5 To support the university with the preparation of returns for league tables. The post holder will help the university to make accurate and full data returns 1.1.6 To support the implementation and analysis of alumni surveys on career
destinations, working with the university careers services
1.1.7 To work with Information Services to make required data and information, both current and historical, easily accessible to those authorized to view it
1.1.8 To carry out checks in co-operation with Registry colleagues to ensure the accuracy of student data and to take action to resolve data integrity problems 1.1.9 To provide training and briefings as required for staff and faculty

2 1.1.10 To recommend and implement process improvements and the use of
technology to make the functions more efficient and service oriented
1.1.11 Demonstrate and promote an environment of continuous process improvement, collaborating with staff across the University
1.1.12 To manage staff. This includes mentoring, coaching, encouraging and providing professional development opportunities; performance management and evaluation on a regular basis.
1.2 General Duties & Responsibilities
1.2.1 Administrative Duties relating to all matters that the membership of a University entails, including cross institutional wide activities.
1.2.2 General Responsibility to undertake all other duties as directed by the Deputy Registrar.
1.3 Qualifications
1.3.1 At least a Master’s degree with background in statistics, data analysis, research design, mathematics, social sciences or a related field.
1.4 Knowledge & Skills
1.4.1 High level of competency in statistics, data analysis, research design, mathematics, social sciences or a related field
1.4.2 Relevant work experience
1.4.3 Knowledge of computer applications, including Word, Excel, data visualization software and other relevant packages
1.4.4 Sound understanding of data quality and governance
1.4.5 Experience of using initiative and creativity to resolve problems, identifying suitable solutions and opportunities for improvement
1.4.6 Ability to identify trends of significant to university decision makers 1.4.7 Ability to manage and analyze large datasets
1.4.8 Skill to write high quality analytical and technical reports and to present complex technical/analytical concepts and information to a wide range of audiences 1.4.9 Methodical approach to work and high level of attention to detail
1.4.10 Ability to work with a diverse group of colleagues and external stakeholders is essential
1.4.11 Flexible approach to work, managing time and resources to respond to competing priorities and ensuring timely, accurate deliverables
1.4.12 Ability to produce high quality written and data reports 1.4.13 Willingness to expand professional and technical skills
1.4.14 Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and data protection.
1.5 Other Duties
