Background of the Study

Objective of the Study

The main purpose of the internship is to gather practical knowledge about the internal and external knowledge of a company. The purpose of preparing this report is to acknowledge my experience and practical knowledge that I have gained about marketing activities and analysis of marketing strategies applied by the United Pharma and Healthcare Limited for the improvement of their business.

Overview of pharmacy business in Bangladesh

The online pharmacy market in Bangladesh has recently started to grow; however, it is still quite modest. Gaining the trust of your customers becomes easier for you because there is still less competition. Online pharmacy offers people of all categories who are now preoccupied with the hustle and bustle of city life a much needed break.

They will have the flexibility to buy medicines from an online pharmacy whenever they want, wherever they are, which is a great opportunity for both parties to advance the pharmacy industry.

If a patient has questions regarding their medication, the patient can inform the qualified pharmacists assigned to the patient to respond and suggest instructions to the queries made by the patients or customers. Never throw a medicine down the crapper, wash it down the sink or throw it in the trash. Bring all outdated or expired medications and Wellbeing dispose of them properly for patient safety.

Wellbeing can arrange their personal delivery service for the free delivery of any customer's prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines and convenience store goods.

The marketing department is responsible for public relations, coordinated branding, product and service promotion, lead and demand generation, digital promotion, content development, customer relationship management, database administration, and so on. The supply chain department is in charge of planning all the coordination related to the distribution network, and ensures that all the medications on demand are available in all the outlets, for example, from pharmaceutical companies in the country such as incepta, square, beximco, health care, etc.

The accounting and finance department is fully responsible for the organization's large number of records, as well as all monetary product and service exchanges. Keeping track of accounts payable and accounts receivable, tracking monthly and annual income, handling payroll, describing and recording transactions related to medical products and services, and so on are examples.

Wellbeing customizes each recipient's customer experience by sending them notes on their birthdays and other important dates. To ensure the success of CRM, UPHL has partnered with many mobile operator companies like Robi Axiata, Grameenphone, Banglalink and also partnered with some financial institutions like Premier Bank, Lanka Bangla Finance, United Commercial Bank, Asian Development Bank etc. Wellbeing uses websites such as Facebook, Instagram and YouTube as social media plays an important role in their pharmaceutical marketing strategy.

Attractive graphics and colors used to create awareness for various medicines, medical items and services and many other lifestyle products. To maintain their pace in the success of their marketing strategy, they work together with a social media handler generator. They always follow the law and conduct their marketing initiatives in the most moral manner possible.

The event takes place in-store, where some of United Hospital's specialist doctors offer diabetes consultation days, full body check-ups, diet charts and many other health-related concerns. In addition, Wellbeing held an event specifically for job holders, home, family and seniors in each of their individual stores. Wellbeing has its own apps and social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram to help organize and advertise the healthcare campaign.

Such campaigns promote trust, repeat purchases, customer loyalty, positive word of mouth and recommendations to others, all of which contribute to the expansion of Welfare and its establishment as one of Bangladesh's modern multi-chain pharmacy. If the customer has a positive experience in the store, he will come back again and again. Wellbeing Pharmacy's vibrant color schemes, great design, well-dressed employees, and eye-catching signage make the store acceptable and attractive to the customers.

All lifestyle items such as skin care products, medical instruments, medicines, certain vital products, vitamins and many others have been properly classified so that they are easily visible to the customers. Wellness pharmacies collaborate with other local companies such as Ribana, Bangladesh edible oil, Sini Care, Marico and others as part of a program known as Advertising & Promotion (A&P) partner. 20 | P a g e of their A&P partners' products to convey to customers that they are also in favor of shopping locally.

I was chosen to represent Wellbeing Pharmacy on that occasion and with the help of my supervisor I did all the arrangements, decoration, banners, festoon carving etc. However, I was able to name a few business partners including Premier Bank , Robi Axiata, Pathao, Sir John Wilson School and Banglalink. I was also given a list of A&P partners to contact over the phone to integrate them with UPHL and I was also tasked with nurturing some of our existing A&P partners.

Before making the calls, I received instructions from my supervisor and following his instructions, I communicate with the A&P corporate partners and partners and inform them about our services and the benefits they will receive. In order to do business with UPHL, I had to collect various official documents from new A&P partners and corporations. Additionally, my boss gave me considerable latitude to make changes if anything didn't jive with the plug design.

He also gave me the job of managing product segmentation for A&P partners. I was able to speak with my co-workers, pharmacy technicians and store manager during my visit, which also created a strong bond between me and my colleagues.

Meeting the deadline was a challenge because there were so many tasks to complete in such a short time. United Pharma and Healthcare Limited helped me learn how to speak professionally with colleagues. I also communicated with the managers of various branded companies in our country, which really improved my English speaking skills.

Since my major is Marketing and my minor is Finance, I must maintain proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. First, I saw how my seniors worked, since the majority of the work is done in Google Excel sheet, it is essential to understand Excel shortcut methods to complete the task quickly. I had to speak and engage with a large number of individuals while adhering to a strict dress code.

I had to help some of my junior consultant colleagues when they had trouble understanding anything, and I also helped my superiors in completing their jobs. Also, in the course of work, I had to enter the board of corporate partners at UPHL through phone calls, which made it quite difficult to convince them. As a result, I had to carefully study every circumstance to avoid a significant mistake.

Setbacks and Challenges

So, to make this module authentic, I have to talk to them and had to encourage them to work with dedication and honesty. I had to contact them and collect information about their business product, their ownership pattern and business area. The Google Excel sheet had to be checked with great care because I cannot make any mistake and if any mistake happens the file will be considered as a fake data.

After two days I had to go to the meeting and for my convenience my supervisor arranged a car as my transportation. I was assigned a list of A&P partners and had to phone them to nurture them. I had to call 15 A&P partners during this week who were basically all from inside Dhaka.

In the 6th week I was assigned to 7 corporate partners from whom I had to collect some documents and the agreement documents. 33 | Page e During this week I met with 7 corporate partners and had to collect documents and agreements from them and made a portfolio based on the outcomes. 34 | The supervisor and I had to summarize the situations I faced there and the overall scenario of that meeting place.

Sheikh Mohammed Faruk asked about UPHL's marketing plan and I had to answer them until he was satisfied with my answer. After fixing everything, I was assigned the task of working in the field during the event to monitor the events and I had to take feedback from our customers. The most challenging moments this week were working in the field where I had to help the traders and look for any problems they were facing.

36 | P a g e had to buy gifts from different places in Dhaka city, then had to do gift package design planning, then cooperated with Pathao for sending gifts to respected customers. 37 | P a g e had to solve various customer problems and then delegate the solving tasks to subordinates. This week I had to be part of a big event where keeping people and time management and organized way to complete tasks was challenging.

Had to visit all outlets to check product segmentation and build a strong bond with colleagues. Had to show some errors to our CEO from the google excel sheet regarding the customer's subscription module.
