Centre for Peace and Justice (CPJ), Brac University is a multi-disciplinary academic institute, which intends to promote global peace and social justice through quality education, research, training and advocacy. CPJ is implementing a groundbreaking ‘Empowered Women, Peaceful Communities Project’ funded by UN Women. CPJ is inviting application from eligible Videographer as per Terms of Reference given below;

Position Title: Documentary Videographer Starting Date: 25 February-March 2021

Duration: 10 Days No of Position: 01

Type of Appointment: Contractual Work Station: Dhaka (includes field trip to Mymensingh and Rangpur)

Background:

The Centre for Peace and Justice, Brac University has trained 380 female students of Begum Rokeya University Rangpur (BRUR) and Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU), Mymensingh, Brac University and Dhaka University on Entrepreneurship Skills, Peace Building and Social Cohesion. CPJ has also facilitated the establishment of a ‘Women Peace Café’ at Begum Rokeya University Rangpur for the female students to nurture similar innovative business ideas for the promotion of prosperity, peace and cohesiveness in the Bangladeshi society. In the Covid-19 situation, members of this peace café are working as peace ambassadors under the extended Women Peace Ambassador Initiative in their campus and communities. An advisory committee consisting of faculty members, an executive committee comprising representatives from students’ groups and a Women Peace Ambassador (WPA) team with community volunteers were formed to deal with the operational matters of the peace café and Covid-19 resilience initiatives through peace, inclusion and social cohesion.

Keeping the importance of documentation, further reference, policy advocacy, impact showcasing and sustainability of the project in mind, CPJ has decided to create a video documentary of the entire project comprised of four phases.

Scope of Work:

- Plan and work with the Communications Unit of CPJ - Collect and study relevant documents and project reports - Drafting and designing script of the documentation - Designing graphics and effects for video

- Visiting fields to shoot videos and collecting opinion of the stakeholders from field - Editing videos to produce final video

- Adding subtitles of the videos

Expected Qualification:

- At least 5 years of experience in video editing, shooting, direction and script writing - Excellent command over written and oral Bangla and English

- Excellent graphics design and video editing skills - Excellent directing skills

- Must have portfolio of previous work to showcase video skills

Compensation:

- A modest compensation will be awarded to the selected individual/firms for the above work package - All acceptable expenses of the documentary will be borne by Centre for Peace and Justice, Brac University.

- Income Tax deducted at source according to government policies.
