Banking organization of Bangladesh

Bangladesh Bank (BB) also revealed that as of December 19, over 50% of non-performing loans amounted to nearly Tk 481 crore, with non-performing loans from 08 state-owned banks and 41 private banks totaling nearly Tk 442 crore.

CSR– Conceptual Framework

Dahlsrud (2008) does not specifically mention these ideas, but Crane et al. "Why they do it" states that one of the reasons why they do it is the responsibility of managers to their companies. 2008) must be thoroughly understood. 2010) argue that CSR is a search process that requires managers to determine the precise balance between people, planet and profit for their company. For these search principles, dimensions and procedures to be effective, organizational policies must incorporate them and staff members must accept them. Due to conflicting definitions of CSR in the academic literature, Dahlsrud (2008) provides a thorough analysis of several of them.

According to Dalhsrud (2008), the two definitions of CSR most frequently used in academic writing are as follows. Corporate social responsibility is described as “the concept of companies integrating social and environmental issues into their business operations and voluntarily engaging with stakeholders” by the Commission of the European Communities (2001). 34;Business is committed to contributing to sustainable economic development by working with employees, their families, communities and society as a whole to improve your quality of life," stated the World Business Council for Sustainable growth (1999).

Both definitions of CSR mention Dahlsruder's Values and Dimensions in 2008 and Crane et al.'s (2008) as sources. Therefore, it is appropriate to argue that corporate social responsibility is a concept that unites many aspects of organizational strategy and can serve as a guide to a better society based on the body of academic research now available. The definition of CSR above provides insight into how ethical companies can and should behave in the world.

However, it does not emphasize the additional organizational advantages that internal CSR can have. For example, new research published in Frontiers in Psychology (2016) shows that corporate responsibility initiatives are an excellent method of raising employee morale.

CSR performed in Bangladesh

Social responsibility in the developed world, but raises concerns and questions about the extent to which CSR is practiced by companies in poor countries. Conventional wisdom holds that companies from developed countries are better suited to corporate social responsibility because the public there has higher standards for responsible behavior. As a result, CSR would be of less importance to individuals and companies (Khan et al., 2021).

On the other hand, it is also thought that social expectations in developing countries are mainly focused on financial success. In Bangladesh, corporate social responsibility is a relatively recent concept and all businesses try to maintain it along with other obligations. However, the guidelines issued by the Bangladesh Bank in recent years and starting from 2008 advise banks to perform these tasks in a more systematic manner (Haque, Uddin, & Rahman, 2021).

However, sometimes people believe that the primary objective of profit is to emphasize self-interest rather than morality. Egoism, on the other hand, emphasizes one's own well-being at the expense of the interests of others; it is not the same as self-interest. For a business to be more productive and effectively allocate its assets, self-interest, which is essentially a concern for financial gain, is essential (Security and Rights Society, 2014).

As a result, businesses cannot function efficiently without the support of the organization in which they are housed. Because they are one of the few private institutions with the resources to do so, businesses must exercise social responsibility. The business sector has great economic capital and some of the most active intellectuals in the world (Selin, Joni and Ahmed, 2022). Therefore, to "create a better place for the world", firms must invest in their society and economic capital.

In this regard and as part of the implementation of the National Integrity Strategy in the country as mandated by the Bangladesh Bank, DBBL published an advertisement titled "ChhorayChhoraySuddhachar" in a national daily to promote integrity and increase awareness of corruption. The purpose of the study is to assess the latest efforts of Dutch Bangladesh Bank Limited.
