Group –A : Arithmetic

1.The Difference of square of two consecutive number is also a perfect square number.

a. Considering small consecutive as ‘x’ Form an equation. (2) b. Find what will be the least two consecutives. (4) c. By using prime factors, show that the sum of the square of obtained consecutives is not a perfect square. (4) 2. Two equal size jar are filled with milkshake. In the milkshake the ratio of milk and chocolate syrup in the first jar is 3 : 2 and in the second jar it is 5 : 4.

a. Find the sum of the ratios of milk and also find the sum of the ratios of chocolate syrup

of both jar. (2)

b. What part of milk and what part of chocolate syrup are there in each jar? (4) c. If the milkshake of two jars are mixed together then find the ratios of milk and chocolate syrup. (4) 3. Sajid is a fashion designer bought per meter of cloth at the rate of taka 120 from the wholesale market spend 5 taka for printing per meter of the cloth and sold it at the rate of 150 taka per meter. He gained 20000 taka as profit.

a. If Sajid bought X meter of cloth then express the cost price through x. (2)

b. How many meter of cloth did he buy? (4)

c. If he increases the selling price by 5 taka for each meter of cloth, then find the percentage of profit that

he gained. (4)

c. Resolve the obtained expression from ‘b’ into factors. (4)

7. In a geometrical figure a straight line intersects two parallel straight lines.

a. Draw the figure with identification and write down the definition of alternate angles. (2) b. Using the above diagram prove that alternate angles are equal. (4) c. Prove that when a transversal cuts two parallel straight lines, the sum interior angles on the same side

of the transversal is two right angle. (4)

b. If he draw a triangle using the angle and two corresponding sides measuring 4cm and 6cm then draw

the triangle with proper description. (4)

c. Along with previous angle he draw another angle and a 4cm line adjoining the sides. Draw the triangle

along with the description. (4)

10. The monthly amount of savings of 20 students are-

a. Arrange the given data in ascending order. (2)
