(The Correlation between Reproductive Health Knowledge and Sexual Behaviour of Senior High School Adolescent in Jember Regency)

ABSTRACT
Globalization has given influence in demographic transition which placed adolescent in big proportion. Natural change in adolescent can make serious problems, such as free sex, abortion, unwanted pregnancy, and sexual transmitted disease. One of factors that encourage free sex among adolescent is lack of reproductive health knowledge. Limited counseling facilities and minimum role of parents and community can make adolescent do not have correct information about reproductive health. It can make them take wrong decision about their sexual behavior. The aim of this research was to identify the correlation between reproductive health knowledge and sexual behaviour of senior high school adolescent in Jember regency. This study was correlation analytic with cross sectional approach. The population was students of Senior High School in Jember regency. Sample was chosen by cluster sampling and total of respondent was 380. Data were collected using questionnaire. The result of research shows that 67.4 % of respondents has reproductive health knowledge in high category and 83.9 % has sexual behaviour in good category. The statistical analysis with Spearman’s rho resulted r = 0.610 and p = 0.000 (p<0.05). There is significant correlation between reproductive health knowledge and sexual behaviour of senior high school adolescent in Jember regency.
