Day-2, Basic and Advanced Skill Test
INTRODUCTION
Improving quality of cutting tool is a key for machining industries to be exist in the business. A tool grinder (TG) CNC machine becomes one of solutions for it. Designing a part of TG CNC machine is dedicated as a subject in this project.
DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT OF DAY-2
Basic Skill Test (1 hour)
On this test, students will be asked to finish theoretical problems on Mechanical Engineering Drawing and Design. They should develop a concept of a part as a sketch by free hand on a A3 form. Outputs:
1. General 2-dimensionally geometrical views and specific views 2. Isometric 3-dimensionally view
3. Dimensioning and Tolerance 4. Necessary information
Advanced Skill Test (5 hours)
This test is performed on PC. Tested workpiece is a part of 5 axis TG CNC machine. Students will receive an improper scaled and sized drawing to be redrawn precisely and to be assembled with other available (evtl. given) parts. Outputs:
1. 2D and 3D Assembly Drawing 2. 3D Explode Drawing
Total given time is6 hours.

INSTRUCTIONS TO THE STUDENTS
SKETCH APART
1. Create sketches on paper.
2. Scale info is not necessary, but dimensioning and tolerances is preferred. 3. Material and necessary info such as casting iron, etc. are preferred.
4. Differentiate between thick and thin line for representing part drawing or dimension lines.
CREATE 2D ASSEMBLY DRAWING
The guidance of 2D assembly drawing are :i. The number of views should be sufficient to discribe the model ii. Dimension of Maximum Stroke (evtl. Motion) should be sufficient
iii. Put the part list; the column of the part list are Item, Qty., Part Name, Material and Description
CREATE 3D EXPLODE DRAWING
Using Inventor Studio, create an explode drawing in unspecified scale
