The following notification is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6.

5. Title, number of pages and language(s) of the notified document: Revision to Enforcement Regulation under the Law Concerning the Rational Use of Energy (the Law) and Ministerial Notification of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (2 pages, in English).
6. Description of content: Routers and Switches will be newly designated as "Designated machinery and equipment" and the methods of measuring their energy consumption efficiency will be established. Additionally, the air conditioners’ methods of measuring energy consumption efficiency will be reviewed.
7. Objective and rationale, including the nature of urgent problems where applicable: To promote rationalization of use of energy through prevalence of machinery and equipment with high energy consumption efficiency, in order to cope with the recent increase of energy consumption in commercial/residential sectors and global warming problem.
8. Relevant documents: This revision will appear in "KAMPO" (Official Government Gazette) when adopted.
