ABSTRAK

The

objectives

of this study are: Firstly, to determine the effect of fixative on the

depth of shade color of cotton and silk which stained using jasmine tea waste extract.

Secondly, to determine the effect of fixative types on the fade proof color of cotton and

silk toward washing. Thirdly, to determine the effect of fixative types on the fade proof

color of cotton and silk toward washing and ironing. And all three were revealed by

RGB digital image processing methode.

The results of this study showed that: 1) The depth of shade color of cotton and

silk produce from the darkest color are: “tunjung”, verdigris, alu

m, respectively and

the brightest color is lime. 2) On cotton and silk, the fixative of “tunjung” didn’t

showed fadeless of color toward washing for all hue. On cotton the fixative of verdigris

showed fadeless of color exception blue hue, and on silk showed fadeless of color for

blue and grey hue. On the contrary, on cotton with fixative of alum and lime showed

fadeless of color for all hue, while on silk the fadeless of color for red and green hue.

3) On cotton and silk the fixative of “tunjung” didn’t sh

owed fadeless of color toward

washing-ironing for all hues, in the contrary, cotton showed fadeless of color for red

and green hue with fixative of verdigris. While on cotton, fixative of alum and lime

showed fadeless of color for all hue. On the contrary, on silk the use of alum as fixative

showed fadeless of color for red hue, while with lime has fadeless of color for red and

grey hue.
