Foreword and Disclaimers

This document was prepared as an aid to my colleagues and myself, in checking Customer Usage against the current lists of Countries, IATA Regions and Traffic Conference Codes in preparation for Database load prior to System Delivery. As it was prepared outside Company time and is not part of the official company library, there are no copyright issues.

a) This is NOT an official International Standards Organisation Official Document, nor is it an IATA Official Document. For Airline professional use in Airlines, always refer to the current Standards Schedules Information Manual Appendix I.

b) The version posted on my web site: http://www.cue-dih.co.uk was prepared on the date shown at the left hand side at the foot of each page. Whilst the document may be maintained, for professional use please DO NOT ASSUME it contains the latest data.

Notes on Country Names China Notes:

Hong Kong and Macau are Special Administrative Regions and from an Airline viewpoint have to be treated separately from the rest of the Peoples Republic of China.

With Taiwan the situation is more complex as it has an elected president a democratically elected government and is accepted by certain countries as being a sovereign nation. However it is viewed by the Chinese Government in Beijing as the 23rd province of China. This basic issue of sovereignty obviously results in challenges for Airlines wishing to operate to Taiwan and the rest of China,

Russian Federation Note:

The official ISO Country code is: RU.

However for Airline purposes ONLY IATA Regions and Traffic Conference have split the Federation along the line of the Urals into: East of the Urals – Code XU

West of the Urals – Code RU.

This means there are three entries in the ENCODE/DECODE Tables, the official and the IATA Split.

Vatican City State and Holy See - Note:

Some documents use the Holy See rather than the Vatican. In this document the information is detailed against the Vatican entry
