Cader As A “PILAR” To Increase Family’s Ability To Manage The Health Of The
Elderly With Uric Acid Problem In Cisalak Pasar District Depok Indonesia

METHODS
A quasy experiment study with one group pre post test design. The sample used 87 family members who have elderly people with uric acid problems in Cisalak Pasar District Depok with purposive sampling technique.
BACKGROUND
Uric acid problem is one of the disease that is often occurs in the elderly. Management of uric acid problems need a support from family as the closest relatives of elderly. Improving the ability of the family to manage the health of the elderly need to be supported by the cadre. Cadres that stand as the Elderly Health Welfare Support Group termed "PILAR " have a role to give a training in the management of uric acid problems and also have a duty to provide social support and health information to
improve the ability of the family, in the areas of
knowledge, skills and attitudes. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of cadres as PILAR on the families ability (knowledge, skills and attitudes) to manage the health of the elderly with uric acid problems in Cisalak Pasar District Depok.
RESULT AND DISCUSSION
Improved knowledge, skills and attitudes of family members in managing the health of the elderly with uric acid problems as shown by the increasing value of the knowledge of 23.5%, skills 24.2% and 23% in families’ attitudes. Wilcoxon test was obtained p = 0.000 < 0.05,
which means cadre as PILAR affect the ability
(knowledge, skills and attitudes) of families to manage the health of the elderly with uric acid problems in the Cisalak Pasar District Depok Indonesia.
Bensley and Fisher (2009 ) describes a support group is a structured group consisting of several people whose members have a commitment to resolve the problem, task or special theme and combine their approach in terms of education and interpersonally. The formation of a support group is an empowerment intervention strategies in the delivery of health promotion to the public.

CONCLUSION
Cadres as a support group for families needs to be establised and supervised regularly by health professionals to improve the health of elderly people with uric acid problems.
Support group has a function to facilitate families manage health problems of elderly with uric acid
problem. In order for this support group is able to
perform the role and function optimally it before need to be equipped with knowledge and experience on how to prevent and care for the elderly with uric acid by the holding of the training of cadres. Follow- up of this activity is the establishment of the organizational structure and debriefing skills in managing the health.
Cadre success in improving family self-sufficiency in managing the health of the elderly need attention from the health center. Clark (2003) says that the reward system is necessary to maintain a good behavior. Mentoring , guidance and training needs to be done on
an ongoing basis by the health centers and the
