Question 22

Miranda was blessed with a powerful and melodic singing voice ever since she was born. Her family was very proud of Miranda’s talent and often asked her to perform for them.

One day, Miranda joined a national singing competition. She sang a popular ballad beautifully and won the competition. Her friends and family congratulated her heartily. Feeling proud of her achievement, Miranda started to change her behaviour.

She believed that she was going to be a famous singer someday. So, she refused to perform for her family and friends. She felt that singing at a small event was not suitable for someone talented like her. Her friends started to leave her alone as they didn’t like her arrogance.

Without a care, Miranda decided to audition with a big recording company. She practiced singing day and night. However, two days before the audition, she had a sore throat. It quickly developed into a serious condition when she stubbornly continued practicing.
