Morphological analysis is analysis that is breaking a word into its elements (root, prefix and suffix). Meanwhile, affix is the part of morphological analysis. It is important for the students to study about affixes. When the students are able to identify the affixes, they can express grammatically-required features in English. Song is a kind of literary work which belong to poem because it is the media to express a feeling and emotional of someone. The Divide album composed by Ed Sheeran is the newest album that is released in 2017.
Seeing such a phenomenon, the researcher found that there were students with the difficulties in the area of affixes involved in building and forming words in learning English. Affixes are problematic for students and one of their major difficulties in perceiving and recognizing them in their learning English. This research aimed to find out the kinds and the functions of affixes in English song lyrics of Divide album composed by Ed Sheeran.
This research is descriptive qualitative research where researcher tries to find out the kinds of affixes and its functions from the words/lyrics in English song lyrics of Divide album composed by Ed Sheeran without using statistical calculation. In this research the researcher uses all of words/lyrics that are attached suffix of inflectional of the data. The source of data for this research is song lyrics of Divide album composed by Ed Sheeran. The data of this research are the lyrics which contain English affixes. The lyrics are obtained from internet which consist many inflectional affixes that composed in Ed Sheeran’s song lyrics.
The result from the analyzed data was gained the inflectional affixes that found in English song lyrics of Divide album composed by Ed Sheeran. The total of the affixes in the whole song lyrics in the album are 185. The most affixes used in this album is –s affix that functioned to indicate plural with the total number 75 affixes, the second affix is –ed affix that functioned to indicate past tense with the total number 38 affixes, the third is –ing affixes that functioned to indicate progressive with the total number 32 affixes, the fourth is –s/es affix that
functioned to indicate 3rd person-singular present with the total number 20 affixes,
the fifth is –en affix that functioned to indicate past participle with the total number 8 affixes, the sixth is –er affix that functioned to indicate comparative with the total number 6 affixes, the seventh is –‘s affix that functioned to indicate possessive with the total number 5 affixes, and the eighth is –est affix that functioned to indicate superlative with the total number only 1 affix.
From the conclusion of this research, the researcher suggests to the readers to learn about affixes, especially in inflectional affixes because it can
improve their grammatical skill in learning English through the song lyrics of Divide album composed by Ed Sheeran.

Analisis morfologi adalah analisis yang memecah suatu kata ke dalam sebuah elemen (akar, prefix dan suffix). Sedangkan, afiks sendiri adalah bagian dari analisis morfologi. Sangatlah penting bagi siswa untuk memelajari afiks. Ketika siswa telah mampu untuk mengidentifikasi afiks, mereka dapat dengan mudahnya mengetahui hal-hal yang diperlukan dalam tata kebahasaan bahasa Inggris. Lagu adalah salah satu karya sastra yang tergolong ke dalam bentuk prosa karna lagu adalah media untuk mengekspresikan perasaan dan emosi seseorang. Album Divide dari Ed Sheeran adalah album terbaru nya yang dirilis pada tahun 2017.
Setelah melihat sebuah fenomena, penulis menemukan adanya siswa yang sedang berada dalam kesulitan pada pemahaman afiks yang meliputi pembentukan suatu kosa kata dalam bahasa Inggris. Afiks adalah suatu masalah bagi murid dan salah satu kesulitan besar dalam memahami dan mengenali dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui macam dan fungsi afiks yang ada pada lirik lagu bahasa Inggris dalam album Divide oleh Ed Sheeran.
Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dimana peneliti mencoba mencari tahu macam dan fungsi afiks dari kata/lirik pada lirik lagu bahasa Inggris dalam album Divide oleh Ed Sheeran tanpa menggunakan kalkulasi statistik. Pada penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan semua kata/lirik yang terbubuhi sufiks dari infleksional menjadi datanya. Sumber data dari penelitian ini ialah lirik lagu dari album Divide oleh Ed Sheeran. Semua liriknya didapat dari internet yang mana terdiri dari beberapa afiks infleksional di dalam lirik Ed Sheeran.
Hasil data yang teranalisis, diperolehlah afiks infleksional yang ditemukan di dalam lirik lagu Bahasa Inggris dari album Divide oleh Ed Sheeran. Total afiks dalam lirik lagu keseluruhan adalah 185. Afiks yang paling sering digunakan di album ini adalah afiks –s yang berfungsi untuk mengindikasi plural dengan total 75 afiks, afiks kedua yang sering digunakan adalah afiks –ed yang berfungsi untuk mengindikasi past tense dengan total 38, yang ketiga adalah afiks –ing yang berfungsi untuk mengindikasi progressive dengan total 32 afiks, yang
keempat adalah afiks –s/es yang berfungsi untuk mengindikasi 3rd person-singular present
dengan total 20 afiks, yang kelima adalah afiks –en yang berfungsi untuk mengindikasi past
participle dengan total 8 afiks, yang keenam adalah afiks –er yang berfungsi untuk
mengindikasi perbandingan dengan total 6 afiks, yang ketujuh adalah afiks –‘s yang berfungsi untuk mengindikasi kepemilikan dengan total 5 afiks dan yang kedelapan yaitu –est yang berfungsi untuk mengindikasi superlative dengan total 1 afiks saja.
Dari kesimpulan penelitian ini, peneliti memberikan beberapa saran kepada pembaca untuk mempelajari lebih dalam mengenai afiks, terutama pada afiks infleksional karena itu
dapat meningkatkan kemampuan grammarnya dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris melalui lirik lagu dalam album Divide dari Ed Sheeran.
