Indosat and Telkom Enter Into Interconnection Agreement To Increase their DLD and IDD Services
Jakarta, 23 September 2005. To enhance services for public as fixed telephone users or customers, PT Indosat Tbk (”Indosat”) and PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (”Telkom”) entered into interconnection agreement of local fixed network with domestic long distance fixed network and international long distance fixed network. Through this agreement, customers of both operators using fixed line and wireless telephones can make DLD and IDD calls more easily and automatically with a more broadened coverage of destination.
President Directors of Indosat and Telkom signed the interconnection agreement of local fixed network with domestic long distance fixed netwo rk and international long distance fixed network today, withnessed by Minister of Communication and Informatics, the honorable Mr Sofyan A. Djalil.
Through this interconnection agreement between Indosat and Telkom, Indosat’s fixed line and wireless customers can easily access their partners at their destination as Telkom’s customers through DLD dialling, and vise versa. For domestic long distance, national access code ”0” is remained applicable as it has been used so far. In addition, all existing regula tions including Ministerial Decree No. 6/2005 will be implemented as appropriately as it should be and will be conducted in a timely manner.
This is also applicable for IDD dialing, that through this interconnection agreement between Indosat and Telkom, Indosat’s customers who are accustomed to using 001 and 008, will easily make IDD calls by dialing 007 automatically. This is also applicable for Telkom’s customers to make IDD calls by dialing 001 and 008 automatically.
