THE DEVELOPMENT OF COMPUTER MEDIA FOR SENIOR FIIGH SCHOOL SPORT EDUCATION TEACFIING AND LE,A-RNIN G ACTT\rITI ES

ABSTRACT

This research was aimed to reveal the stages in developing eff ective media for the instruction of physical, sport, and health education in high schools. The developed media were expected to i n c l u d e s q r e r a l m e d i a c o m p o n e n t s , n a m d y , t e x t s , p i c t u r e s , a n i m a t i o n s , s o u n d s , a n d v i d e o s , s o t h a t t h e y f a c i l i t a t e t h e s t u d e n t s t o c o m p r e h e n d t h e l e a r n i n g m a t e r i a l s and thus incrq:sed the student's learning achisrernent. This study was categorized into research and development. The process of , d w d o p i n g t h e m u l t i m e d i a was in the stages of introduction, instructional design, production, s r a l u a t i o n , a n d r s r i s i o n . ln t h e p r o d u c t i o n s t e p , t h e in i t i a l p r o d u c t was dweloped. T h i s p r o d u c t was obtained from the production process, and was validated by subject-matter and media experts. The next $ep was to try out the product to the students in three steps, namely, oneto-one tryout, vnall group tryout, and field try out. The subjects were students of SMA N g Yogyakarta. The data were collected using a questionnaire, test and observation. The data were in the form of the result of the evaluation on the quality of the product, recommendation for the product improvernent, test scores, a n d o t h e r q u a l i t a t i v e d a t a . The quantitative d a t a w e r e a n a l y z e d using descriptive s t a t i s t i c s . T h e r e c o m m e n d a t i o n o b t a i n e d w a s u s e d a s t h e b a s i s t o r e v i s e t h e p r o d u c t . T h e r e s u l t o f the validati,tn b y s u b j e c t - m a t t e r e x p e r t s s h o w s t h a t t h e p r o d u c t is " v e r y g o o d " (averagescore o f 4 . 2 8 ) w h i l e f r o m tlre m e d i a e x p e r t it i s " v e r y g o o d " (average score of 4.98). The student's e v a l u a t i o n o n t h e m u l t i m e d i a quality shows that the product is "good". The avarage score for appearance aspect is 4.09 (good), content/material aspect is 3.95 (good) and learning aspect is 4.15 (good). The average score of the o v e r a l l a s p e c t s i s 4 . 0 6 ( w h i c h is in a good criterion). T h e m e a n o f t h e p r e t e s l scores i s 5 . 5 6 , w h i l e t h a t o f t h e p o s t - t e s t i s 8 , 2 3 a n d t h u s the average increase i s 2 . 6 7 w i t h 97.14 % of students h a v e a c h i q r e d t h e c o m p e t e n c i e s . T h e r e f o r e i t c a n b e c o n c l u d e d t h a t t h e m u l t i m e d i a d e v d o p e d i n t h i s s t u d v a r e e f f e c t i v e f o r t h e t e a c h i n g o f p h y s i c a l , s p o r t , a n d h e a l t h e d u c a t i o n i n l r i g h s c h o o l s .

INTRODUCTION

ln senior high school of KTSP, thelesson of sport phisycal and health education ladetheteory and practical work. For example the health teory is the competence standart to apply the culture of health live, with the competence standart can be dangerous analiza employing of drugs. Think of the important bythemateri for student, hopeto assumethestudent competencecan beattainment.

By the very fact from the non legitimate survey for teachers of phisycal, sport, an health education can get some complaint about as difficult to search the learn source because of not yet the special hand book about the healthy of senior high school students. They feel difficult to buy the book of drugs because not the store sales collection the book of drugs. Searching of source from the internet substantively can to do, but can't undeniable that for accesses the internet so that it can be an obstruction for them.

The method of conventional learning to used up till now, for example the speech of method. The process of learning still dominated with the transfer of knowledge from the teacher and the student. The any source of study can text book only and not yet to employing the others learn source. 9lch as too em ploying the media with the result that still definite and the learning diposed cJrawless.

A variety of problems can impelling researcher to evolving the media for phiqycal learning, sport, an senior high school health education. In order to, the research to do in efents is: How to evolving the computer of media ca effective to used in physical learning, sport, and senior high school education?.

This research head for give expression to the phases in multimedia of learning for effective e v o l v i n g a n d h a v e t h e c h a r a c t e r i s t i c , t o c o v e r i n g a v a r i e t y o f t h e m e d i a c o m p o n e n t t h a t is t h e t e x t .

to theassessrnent from matter expert and media expert is"very good", and theassessrnent from the students in general is "good". For the performance aspect, content/matter, and instruction are agsessed by almost of students belong to the "good" criteria. The score average in each assessrnent aspect is 4'19 on performance aspect, 3,95 on content/matter aspect, and 4,15 on instruction aspect. The whole average is 4,06 that belbng to the "good" criteria. Ti-re media product that is developed effectivdy is used on the learning process of health, sport, and physical education. lt can be seen from the result of post test i.e. g7,14vo of students get the sores > 6,s, means that the instruction competency is gained.

According to the conclusion and the limitation above, can De suggested that: This media product is used on the instruction process of health, sport, and physical education in SIrrA in order that instruction process is more effective

and efficient; and rhis media product can be introduced through the seminars or simirar activities in order that is can be used by the wide society.
