Assalamu’alaikum Wr.Wb dan salam sejahtera bagi kita semua

Pertama-tama marilah kita panjatkan puji syukur kehadirat Allah SWT, Tuhan Yang Maha Pengasih dan Penyayang, karena atas ijin-Nya, Forum Kursus (FOKUS) 2017 FKG Usakti akan kembali hadir ditengah-tengah kita. Tema Fokus 2017: “Updating in Dentistry: Lifelong learning for a better quality of life”. Tema ini dipilih sebagai upaya meningkatkan peran serta dokter gigi maupun mahasiswa kedokteran gigi dalam membantu masyarakat Indonesia pada khususnya agar mencapai kualitas hidup yang paripurna melalui belajar sepanjang hayat mengikuti kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi kedokteran gigi. FOKUS 2017 sebagai ajang Pendidikan Kedokteran Gigi Berkelanjutan mengajak para dokter gigi akademisi maupun praktisi serta para mahasiswa kedokteran gigi agar mampu menghadapi segala tantangan yang ada khususnya pada era MEA dan AFTA ini, agar dapat bersaing khususnya dengan negara-negara di kawasan Asia Tenggara lainnya. Diharapkan melalui FOKUS 2017, para dokter gigi maupun mahasiswa kedokteran gigi dapat meningkatkan etika, profesionalisme, keterampilan dan teknologi khususnya di bidang kedokteran gigi. Harapan lain dengan peningkatan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan ini, pelayanan yang diberikan kepada pasien akan memuaskan, sehingga pasien tidak mencari layanan kesehatan ke negara-negara tetangga.

Fokus 2017 akan menawarkan program ilmiah, penghargaan ilmiah, pameran, kegiatan sosial yang menarik dan menjadi ajang silahturahim di kalangan kedokteran gigi baik alumni maupun non alumni. Aspirasi pertemuan ini adalah untuk menyatukan akademisi, peneliti, dan industri yang terkait dengan disiplin ilmu kedokteran gigi, serta memperkaya pengetahuan Anda tentang perkembangan terbaru dalam disiplin ilmu kedokteran gigi. Fokus 2017 dapat menjadi wahana bagi para akademisi, praktisi dan industri kedokteran gigi dalam bertukar pikiran tentang bagaimana membangun kreativitas dan inovasi untuk menciptakan keunggulan bersaing yang berkelanjutan bagi bidang kedokteran gigi

Salam sejahtera bagi kita semua

Sebagai bentuk komitmen pengembangan pendidikan dan praktik kedokteran gigi, Fakultas Kedokteran Gigi Univeritas Trisakti mengundang sejawat dan mahasiswa kedokteran gigi untuk bergabung dalam acara Forum Kursus Dental 2017 FKG Universitas Trisakti (FOKUS FKG Usakti). FOKUS FKG Usakti kali ini akan diadakan pada tanggal 13-15 Oktober 2017 bertempat di Gedung Balai kartini, Jakarta dan mengusung tema ““Updating in Dentistry: Lifelong learning for a better quality of life”.

Sesuai dengan tema yang diangkat, FOKUS FKG Usakti diharapkan ikut berkontribusi dalam pendidikan kedokteran gigi yang pada akhirnya akan mampu meningkatkan kualitas hidup masyarakat secara umum. Berbagai kegiatan akan digelar sebagai bagian dari FOKUS FKG Usakti yang terdiri dari seminar, kursus singkat keterampilan, presentasi poster, pameran, dan dentist gathering. FOKUS FKG Usakti diharapkan dapat menjadi ajang bagi akademisi dan praktisi kedokteran gigi untuk berbagi pengetahuan terbaru serta pengalaman yang akan memperkaya keilmuan kedokteran gigi.

FOKUS FKG Usakti juga akan menjadi ajang pengenalan produk-produk dan teknologi terbaru kedokteran gigi melalui kegiatan pameran. Beragam pilihan produk dan teknologi terbaru dari perusahan dental dan medik yang akan dipamerkan diharapkan menjadi alternatif bagi praktisi kedokteran gigi untuk meningkatkan mutu pelayanan kepada pasien.

Kami berharap kegiatan FOKUS FKG Usakti tahun ini akan menjadi ajang yang tepat bagi se-mua stakeholder kedokteran gigi untuk melakukan updating ilmu, keterampilan, produk, dan teknologi sebagai ba gian dari komitmen untuk melakukan pembelajaran seumur hidup untuk kehidupan yang lebih berkualitas. Kami dengan sepenuh hati mengundang dan menunggu partisipasi semua stakeholder kedokteran gigi untuk dapat bergabung dalam FOKUS FKG Usakti 2017.

Materials in veneering system are also increase in quality, especially resin composite. Resin Composite becoming a material of choice in veneering because direct composite veneers allow minimal tooth tissue removal an l ess invasive treatment and also less time consume. Therefore, in this session we want to performed effective and efficient way in veneering anterior teeth in a minutes and aes-thetic result can be achieved. Other advantages are it can be repaired directly so less time needed at the chair side and require no labora-tory support. Placement of this veneers provide the more acceptable results as various shades and opacifiers are available, even can over-come discoloration problems. Reasonable results can be achieved, moreover less tooth structure is compromised and periodontal health is also maintained. Peserta akan diperkenalkan den-gan bahan silicone die terbuat dari PVS yang akan digunakan untuk dituangkan pada hasil cetakan alginat. Kemudian peserta akan mel-akukan tumpatan dengan teknik layering menggunakan resin kom-posit pada kavitas yang telah direplikasi tersebut dan menghasilkan onlay komposit. Teknik finishing dan polishing yang ideal digunakan untuk mendapatkan hasil yang optimal. Pada akhir workshop akan dilakukan penyesuaian pada kavitas yang sebenarnya sampai pada akhirnya dilakukan sementasi.

Fakta menunjukkan pasien leb-ih memilleb-ih restorasi cekat, dan ini merupakan pilleb-ihan karena terasa nyaman. Pengasahan gigi penjangkaran merupakan masalah karena sering sejawat berjumpa dengan pasien yang ingin dibuatkan gigi tiruan cekat tapi tidak mau diasah terlalu banyak pada giginya karena menganggap seluruh email dan sebagian dentin akan hilang pada saat proses pengasahan tersebut. Dengan menggunakan Fibre Rein-forced Composite memungkinkan dokter gigi dapat membuat jem-batan dengan preparasi minimalis berupa inlay, tanpa perlu men-gasah seluruh permukaan gigi. Caranya dapat langsung dan tidak langsung. Pada teknik langsung, restorasi jembatan dapat diselesai-kan dengan 1 kali kunjungan. 13.00 - 16.00 Pembuatan suatu gigi tiruan bertujuan untuk memperbaiki estetik dan fungsi pengunyahan. Beberapa pasien tidak mengerti apabila pemaiakan gigi tiruan harus dilakukan kontrol secara berkala, karena dengan bertambahnya usia akan terjadi resorpsi. Gigi tiruan yang sudah lama dipakai akan menyebabkan longgar atau tidak nyaman lagi. Gigi tiruan yang longgar selain akan mengganggu fungsi pen-gunyahan, juga akan berdampak pada linggir sisa menjadi resorpsi. Masalah ini dapat diatasi dengan pencekatan kembali tanpa mem-buat gigi tiruan yang baru, tetapi perlu diperhatikan gigi tiruan yang lama kondisinya masih baik. Perbaikan ini dapat dilakukan dengan menambah bahan basis pada permukaan cetak. Sebaliknya suatu gigi tiruan yang tidak cekat lagi dapat disebabkan pula karena retensi dari gigi tiruan patah dan mengakibatkan kurangnya kecekatan dari gigi tiruannya. Penanggulangan masalah-masalah ini dapat dilaku-kan secara direct maupun indirect. Secara indirect gigi tiruan dicetak terlebih dahulu dan dilakukan proses di lab, sehingga pasien ada pe-riode tidak bergigi. Sedangkan direct dapat langsung dilakukan di ruang praktek. Kelebihan secara direct yaitu gigi tiruan dapat dipakai langsung tanpa ada periode tidak bergigi.

Kebutuhan pekerjaan ini adalah presisi tinggi yang sering dilakukan dengan lengan abduksi tanpa dukungan, le-her fiksasi ke depan dan rotasi untuk jangka waktu yang lama itu. Hal ini menciptakan beban statis yang tinggi (ketegangan otot) di leher, punggung atas, dan bahu. Akibat kondisi tersebut, dokter gigi mel-aporkan sejumlah masalah muskoloskeletal pada lengan, leher dan bahu. Peningkatan kelihan musculoskeletal pada tubuh baguan atas adalah berhubungan posisi tubuh menyimpang berulang dokter gigi yang dilakukan setiap kali praktik. 14.00 - 17.00 This workshop will provide an overview of routine diagnostic oral pathology cases, concentrating on conditions commonly seen in dental practice and also on less common but clinically significant le-sions and diseases. There will be emphasis on developing differential diagnosis and recognising histological features that commonly seen. There will also be discussion on variety of different technique that can be done to achieve diagnosis.

For the first part of the workshop, clinical cases will be sent to all par-ticipants prior to the course. Parpar-ticipants will be encouraged to sub-mit their differential diagnosis and there will be active discussion and review of all the cases. The second part will be a review of histological slides of the more common and interesting cases.

This workshop is therefore suitable for wide audience which include clinician and practitioner that have an interest in Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology cases, surgeons as well as those that practice oral pa-thology.

09.00 - 12.00 Endodontics is a discipline in continuous evolution, especially in the field of the root canal preparation and obturation where new con-cepts, materials, instruments and clinical protocols increasingly per-forming, are continuously proposed to the clinicians. Among them this presentation will focus on two new files to be used in combina-tion to optimize our protocol of instrumentacombina-tion and on a new carri-er-based obturator, the GuttaCore.

The presentation will start with a clear explanation of the “glide path” that can be defined as a root canal with smooth walls, without in-terferences, that works as a guide for the tip of the shaping file thus facilitating their penetration towards the root canal apical third. A smooth glide path will significantly reduce the risk of complications like ledges, canal blockades and apical transportation. The glide path can be easily obtained today using a single file, the ProGlider, manu-factured with the M-Wire, a new Ni-Ti alloy with high resistance to cyclic fatigue. It shows variable tapers (form .02 up to .8,5) with a 18 mm. blade length and a rounded, safe tip. Whereas other rotary files system dedicated to mechanical glide path includes 2-3 instruments with a continuous .02 taper, Proglider is a single file wich allows to ob-tain at the same time, due to its increasing taper, the removal of coro-nal interferences and the creation of a smooth glide path. the “Wave One Gold Glider” that is a single reciprocating file manufactured with the same gold alloy used for WaveOneGold.: The WaveOne Gold Glider has a tip diameter of 0,15 mm, an active portion of 16mm., a variable taper from 2 to 6% and the same poligonal cross section of Wave One Gold. WaveOne® Gold Glider has been specially designed to optimize the glide path management before shaping the canal with WaveOne Gold Primary. The WaveOne® Gold glider works more on the last two thirds of the canal to insure a better positioning of the WaveOne® Gold Primary.

The second part of the presentation will be dedicated to the ProTaper Next which show many improvements and new features compared to those of the ProTaper Universal. Among them the new NiTi alloy (M-Wired), a reduced number of files, a lower taper in their apical portion and a new asymmetrical rectangular cross section. The Pro-Taper Next innovative off-centered rectangular cross section gives the file a snake-like “swaggering” movement as it moves through the root canal. The rotation of the off-centered cross section generates enlarged space for debris removal. Many unbiased research studies confirm unanimously that the ProTaper Next are superior to the Pro-Taper Universal files as to their resistance to fatigue stresses and abil-ity to maintain the original canal anatomy with a significant reduced risk of apical transportation and intra-canal separation. Finally, with ProTaper Next, the root canal preparation can be completed, in the majority of cases, with only two files.

“The WaveOne Gold” was introduced on march 2015. The Wave One Gold is a reciprocating file manufactured with a new alloy “the gold nickel titanium” characterized by excellent properties of resistance to both torsional and bending stresses. In comparison with the first generation of Wave One, the WaveOne Gold are more resistant to cyclic fatige (17,5%), much more resistant to torsional stress (53%), much more flexible (87%) and have less memory control, with less transport force in the canal. Due to their poligonal cross section, the WaveOne Gold can have one or two cutting edges, depending on lo-cation along the file Those alternating cutting points enable to mini-mize the screwing effect. Furthermore, its semi-active tip facilitates its progression within the root canal and its lower taper minimizes the risk of apical extrusion of contaminated debris. The WaveOne Gold are available in 4 sizes: 20.06, 25.07, 35.06 and 40.05 thus giving to the clinicians more options to select the correct size and taper for the “single file” preparation

The last part of the presentation will be dedicated to the Guttacore Pink, a carrier-based obturator characterized by a core made of a cross-linked, thermoset elastomer of gutta-percha that create a her-metic block with the external layer. This close link between the exter-nal layer of gutta-percha and the carrier should dramatically reduce the risk of coronal leakage. For sure, with the GuttaCore, the prepa-ration of the post-space and the removal of the carrier in case of re-treatments become significantly easier than using the conventional Thermafil obturators with plastic carriers. During the presentation the clinical advantages of the GuttaCore Pink Obturators will be de-scribed together with a protocol of use that is based on more than 20 years of experience with the Thermafil Obturators and more than 4 years with the GuttaCore Obturators.

Electrosurgery is the passage of Radio Frequency (RF) or high-frequency electrical current through tissue to create the desired clinical effect. Electrosurgery has been used in dentistry for more than half a century. Over the last three decades, a substantial improvement in minimally invasive surgery and microvascular surgery prompted greater use of electrosurgery. This high frequency energy is used to cut or coagulate the tissue. Application of high-frequency electrical current causes tissue to literally vaporize as the electrode passes through the tissue. The electrosurgical units are often used during surgical periodontal therapy as a crown lengthening, gingivectomy, gingivoplasty, epulis removal, pericoronal flap, frenectomy, coagulation soft tissue. The advantages are the incision is clean with little or no bleeding, a clear view surgical site, can be used in difficult to reach areas, minimal scar formation, chair time of surgical procedure as well as operator fatigue is reduced, soft tissue planning can be done, the technique is pressureless and precise
