ON NEW CLASSES OF UNIVALENT HARMONIC FUNCTIONS DEFINED BY GENERALIZED DIFFERENTIAL

OPERATOR

Maslina Darus and Rabha W. Ibrahim

Abstract. In this article, we define two classes of univalent harmonic functions in the open unit disk

U :={z ∈C:|z|<1}

under certain conditions involving generalized differential operator introduced by the first author [10, 11] as follows

Dkλ,δf(z) =z+

X

n=2

[1 + (n−1)λ]kC(δ, n)anzn, k ∈N0, λ≥0, δ≥0, (z ∈U)

for analytic function of the formf(z) =z+P∞

n=2anzn, (z ∈U). A sufficient

coefficient, such as distortion bounds, extreme points and other properties are studied.

Keywords and phrases: Differential operator; Sˇalˇagean differential operator; Ruscheweyh differential operator; Al-Oboudi differential operator ; Harmonic function.

1. Introduction

Let U := {z : |z| < 1} be the open unit disk and let SH denote the class

(2)

h and g belong to the linear space H(U) of all analytic functions on U take the form

h(z) =z+ ∞

X

n=2

anzn and g(z) =

X

n=1 bnzn.

Thus for each f ∈SH takes the form

f(z) =z+ ∞

X

n=2

anzn+

X

n=1

bnzn, z ∈U. (1)

Clunie and Sheil-Small proved that SH is not compact and the necessary and

sufficient condition for f to be locally univalent and sense-preserving in any simply connected domain △is that |h′(z)|>|g(z)| (see [1]).

In [10-11], a generalized differential operator was introduced as follows: Dk

λ,δf(z), where

f(z) = z+ ∞

X

n=2

anzn, (z ∈U)

as follows :

Dk

λ,δf(z) =z+

X

n=2

[1 + (n−1)λ]kC(δ, n)a

nzn, k ∈N0, λ ≥0, δ ≥0, (2)

where

C(δ, n) =

n+δ−1 δ

= Γ(n+δ) Γ(n)Γ(δ+ 1).

This operator was later defined for second time by the authors in [2], without noticing that this operator has been given earlier by Al-Shaqsi and Darus [10] and further studied in [11].

Remark 1.1. When λ = 1, δ = 0 we get Sˇalˇagean differential operator [3], k = 0 gives Ruscheweyh operator [4], δ = 0 implies Al-Oboudi differential operator of order (k) [5] and when λ = 1 operator (2) reduces to Al-Shaqsi and Darus differential operator [6] .

(3)

Definition 1.1. Let f(z) of the form (1). Then f(z) ∈ HSk(λ, δ, µ) if and

only if

X

n=2

(n−µ)[1+(n−1)λ]kC(δ, n)[|a

n|+|bn|]≤(1−µ)(1−|b1|), 0≤µ <1, |b1|<1, for all z ∈U.

Definition 1.2. Let f(z) of the form (1). Then f(z) ∈ HCk(λ, δ, µ) if and only if

X

n=2

n(n−µ)[1+(n−1)λ]kC(δ, n)[|a

n|+|bn|]≤(1−µ)(1−|b1|), 0≤µ <1, |b1|<1,

for all z ∈U.

Remark 1.1. Note that

HS0(λ,0, µ)≡HS(µ), and HC0(λ,0, µ)≡HC(µ) where the subclasses HS(µ) and HC(µ) are studied in [7]. And

HS0(λ,0,0)≡HS, and HC0(λ,0,0)≡HC where the subclasses HS and HC introduced in [8].

We need the next definition as follows:

Definition 1.3. Let F(z) = H(z) +G(z) where H(z) = z+P∞

n=2Anzn and

G(z) =P∞

n=1Bnzn. Then the generalized ρ−neighborhood of f to be the set

Nρk(f) ={F :

X

n=2

(n−µ)[1+(n−1)λ]kC(δ, n)(|an−An|+|bn−Bn|)+(1−µ)|b1−B1|

≤(1−µ)ρ}.

Note that when k= 0, µ= 0 and δ= 0, we receive the set

Nρ0(f) = {F :

X

n=2

(4)

which defined in [9]. And when k = 0 andδ= 0 we pose the set

Nρ0(f) = {F : ∞

X

n=2

(n−µ)(|an−An|+|bn−Bn|) + (1−µ)|b1−B1| ≤(1−µ)ρ}

which defined in [7].

2. Main Results

In this section, we establish some properties of the classes HSk(λ, δ, µ) and

HCk(λ, δ, µ) by obtaining the coefficient bonds. The next results come from

the Definitions 1.1 and 1.2.

Theorem 2.1. Let 0≤µ1 ≤µ2 <1. Then

(i) HSk(λ, δ, µ2)⊂HSk(λ, δ, µ1), (ii) HCk(λ, δ, µ2)⊂HCk(λ, δ, µ1).

Theorem 2.2. Let the inequality

|an|+|bn| ≤

(1−µ)(1− |b1|)

(n−µ)[1 + (n−1)λ]kC(δ, n), 0≤µ <1, |b1|<1, (z ∈U)

be satisfied. Then f belongs to the class HSk(λ, δ, µ). The result is sharp. Theorem 2.3. Let the inequality

|an|+|bn| ≤

(1−µ)(1− |b1|)

n(n−µ)[1 + (n−1)λ]kC(δ, n), 0≤µ <1, |b1|<1, z ∈U

be satisfied. Then f belongs to the class HCk(λ, δ, µ). The result is sharp.

Theorem 2.4. HSk(λ, δ, µ)HSk(λ, δ,0) and HCk(λ, δ, µ)HCk(λ, δ,0).

Proof. Since for 0≤µ < 1 we have ∞

X

n=2

(5)

X

n=2

(n−µ)

(1−µ)[1 + (n−1)λ]

k

C(δ, n)[|an|+|bn|]≤(1− |b1|)

and

X

n=2

n2[1 + (n−1)λ]kC(δ, n)[|an|+|bn|]≤

X

n=2

n(n−µ)

(1−µ) [1 + (n−1)λ]

kC(δ, n)[|a

n|+|bn|]≤(1− |b1|) we obtain the proof of the theorem.

Next we discuss the following properties:

Theorem 2.5. The class HSk(λ, δ, µ) consists of locally univalent sense

pre-serving harmonic mappings.

Proof. Let f ∈ HSk(λ, δ, µ). For z1, z2 U such that z1 6= z2 our aim is to

prove that|f(z1)−f(z2)|>0.

f(z1)−f(z2) h(z1)−h(z2)

≥1−

g(z1)−g(z2) h(z1)−h(z2)

= 1−

P∞

n=1bn(z1n−z2n) (z1−z2) +P∞

n=2an(z1n−z2n)

>1−

P∞ n=1|bn|

1−P∞ n=2|an|

≥1−

P∞

n=1(n−µ)[1 + (n−1)λ]kC(δ, n)

|bn|)

(1−µ)(1−|b1| 1−P∞

n=2(n−µ)[1 + (n−1)λ]kC(δ, n)

|an|

(1−µ)(1−|b1|)

>0,

where a1 = 1. Hence f is univalent. Next we show that f is sense preserving mapping.

|h′(z)| − |g′(z)| ≥1− ∞

X

n=2

n|an||z|n−1− |b1| −

X

n=2

n|bn||z|n−1

>(1− |b1|)−[ ∞

X

n=2

n(|an|+|bn|)]

(6)

Hence |h′(z)| − |g(z)|>0. This completes the proof. In the same way we obtain the following result.

Corollary 2.6. The class HCk(λ, δ, µ) consists of locally univalent sense pre-serving harmonic mappings.

Theorem 2.7. Let f ∈HSk(λ, δ, µ). Then

|Dλ,δk f(z)| ≤(1 +

|b1| δ )|z|+

(1−µ)(1− |b1|) (2−µ) |z|

2

and

|Dλ,δk f(z)| ≥(1−

|b1| δ )|z| −

(1−µ)(1− |b1|) (2−µ) |z|

2.

Proof. Letf ∈HSk(λ, δ, µ) then we have

(2−µ) ∞

X

n=2

[1 + (n−1)λ]kC(δ, n)[|an|+|bn|]≤

X

n=2

(n−µ)[1 + (n−1)λ]kC(δ, n)[|an|+|bn|]≤(1−µ)(1− |b1|) implies that

X

n=2

[1 + (n−1)λ]kC(δ, n)[|an|+|bn|]≤

(1−µ)(1− |b1|) (2−µ) . Applying this inequality in the following assertion, we obtain |Dk

λ,δf(z)|=|z+

X

n=2

[1 + (n−1)λ]kC(δ, n)a nzn+

X

n=1

[1 + (n−1)λ]kC(δ, n)b nzn|

≤(1 + |b1| δ )|z|+

X

n=2

[1 + (n−1)λ]kC(δ, n)(|an|+|bn|)|z|n

≤(1 + |b1| δ )|z|+

X

n=2

[1 + (n−1)λ]kC(δ, n)(|an|+|bn|)|z|2

≤(1 + |b1| δ )|z|+

(1−µ)(1− |b1|) (2−µ) |z|

(7)

Also, on the other hand we obtain |Dk

λ,δf(z)| ≥(1−

|b1| δ )|z| −

X

n=2

[1 + (n−1)λ]kC(δ, n)(|a

n|+|bn|)|z|n

≥(1−|b1| δ )|z| −

X

n=2

[1 + (n−1)λ]kC(δ, n)(|an|+|bn|)|z|2

≥(1−|b1| δ )|z| −

(1−µ)(1− |b1|) (2−µ) |z|

2.

In similar manner we can prove the following result. Theorem 2.8. Let f ∈HCk(λ, δ, µ). Then

|Dk

λ,δf(z)| ≤(1 +

|b1| δ )|z|+

(1−µ)(1− |b1|) 2(2−µ) |z|

2

and

|Dk

λ,δf(z)| ≥(1−

|b1| δ )|z| −

(1−µ)(1− |b1|) 2(2−µ) |z|

2.

Theorem 2.9. Let f of the form (1) belongs to HCk(λ, δ, µ). If ρ 1 then

Nk

ρ(f)⊂HSk(λ, δ, µ).

Proof. Let

f(z) =z+ ∞

X

n=2

[anzn+bnzn] +b1z

and

F(z) = z+ ∞

X

n=2

[Anzn+Bnzn] +B1z. Letf ∈HCk(µ) andF ∈Nρk(f) this give

(1−µ)ρ≥ ∞

X

n=2

(n−µ)[1+(n−1)λ]kC(δ, n)(|a

n−An|+|bn−Bn|)+(1−µ)|b1−B1|

= ∞

X

n=2

(8)

≥ ∞

X

n=2

(n−µ)[1 + (n−1)λ]kC(δ, n)(|An| − |an|+|Bn| − |bn|) + (1−µ)(|B1| − |b1|)

≥ ∞

X

n=2

(n−µ)[1 + (n−1)λ]kC(δ, n)(|An|+|Bn|) + (1−µ)|B1|

− ∞

X

n=2

(n−µ)[1 + (n−1)λ]kC(δ, n)(|a

n|+|bn|) + (1−µ)|b1|

≥ ∞

X

n=2

(n−µ)[1 + (n−1)λ]kC(δ, n)(|A

n|+|Bn|) + (1−µ)|B1|

− ∞

X

n=2

n(n−µ)[1 + (n−1)λ]kC(δ, n)(|a

n|+|bn|) + (1−µ)|b1|

≥ ∞

X

n=2

(n−µ)[1 + (n−1)λ]kC(δ, n)(|A

n|+|Bn|) + (1−µ)|B1| −(1−µ). Thus we obtain that

X

n=2

(n−µ)[1 + (n−1)λ]kC(δ, n)(|An|+|Bn|)≤(1−µ)(1− |B1|),

when ρ≤1.Hence F ∈HSk(µ).
