SCOUT MOVEMENT
The Scout Movement is a voluntary, non partisan
educational movement for young people. Scouting is
open to all, regardless of race or creed, in accordance
with the purpose, principles and method conceived by its
founder Robert Baden-Powell
The first scouting organizations in
Indonesia are Javaansche Padvinders Organisat
ie and was founded by SP Mangkunegara VII in
1916. then in 1920 a lot
of the scouting movement founded, for
example Hizbul watan, Padvinderij Nationale,
etc.
Indonesia became a member of the World
Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) in
1953

• Pramuka is a composite
of several scouting movement in Indonesia, When
•Its name Pramuka was derived from the abbreviation of
"praja muda karana", meaning "young people willing to work".

HIZBUL WATHAN
• HIZBUL WATHAN IS SCOUT MOVEMENT FROM
MUHAMMADIYAH,
• HW one of the first Scout movement in Indonesia, Hizbul
Wathan was also dissolved and merged with the scouts. but in 1999 because period
of reformation Hizbul Wathan was resurrected on 18 November 1999
• Hizbul Wathan name means defender of the homeland • Hizbul Wathan emblem is jasmine underneath the words
