ABSTRAK
Skripsi, yang ditulis oleh Prama Yudha Amdan-210110080303 dari Jurusan
Manajemen Komunikasi, Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Padjadjaran dan
dibimbing oleh Dr. Jenny Ratna Suminar, M,Si. Dan Nindi Aristi,
S.Sos.,M.Comn., dengan judul Konstruksi Identitas Penyandang
Obsessive
Compulsive Disorder
bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana penyandang
Obsessive
Compulsive Disorder
memaknai identitas dirinya dalam interaksi sosial.
Menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi untuk
menjawab pertanyaan penelitian yang berusaha mengungkap konsep diri, persepsi
terhadap orang-orang berpengaruh dan makna identitas diri yang muncul melalui
proses interaksi sosial. Data diperoleh dari 4 penyandang
Obsessive Compulsive
Disorder
sebagai
key informant.

dipandang melalui
beberapa sisi, yakni 1.) Persepsi terhadap Penyandang
Obsessive Compulsive
Disorder
, memandang penyandang kelainan ini memliki karakter yang cerdas,
kuat, beruntung dan sensitif

2.) Persepsi terhadap
Obsessive Compulsive
Disorder
pada diri sendiri menghasilkan kesimpulan bahwa terapat penyandang
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
yang memandang kelainan tersebut sebagai
bagian dari konsep dirinya dan yang lain sebagai unit yang terpisah; 3.) Konsep
Diri Penyandang
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
memiliki nilai positif dan
negatif. Orang-orang yang berperan dalam proses tumbuh kembang dan berada di
sekitar penyandang
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
memberikan pengaruh besar
terhadap pembentukan identitas. Dalam menjalin relasi sosial, penyandang
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
cenderung lebih menutup diri dan seringkali
menerima pelabelan lantaran sikapnya dalam berinteraksi yang kemudian
menajadi identitasnya. Temuan lain dari penelitian ini menunjukkan penerimaan
seseorang atas kondisinya sebagai penyandang
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
juga mempengaruhi identitasnya.
Gambaran kondisi penyandang
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
dalam
membangun identitasnya diharapkan dapat dijadikan rujukan bagi kita untuk dapat
lebih bijaksana dalam membangun komunikasi dan hubungan antar-pribadi.

of Universitas Padjadjaran, supervised by Dr. Jenny Ratna Suminar, M.Si. and
Nindi Aristi,S.Sos.,M.Comn., entitled Social Identity Construction of People with
Obsessive
Compulsive
Disorder
was aimed to elaborate how people
with
Obsessive Compul-sive Disorder interpret their identity in social interactions.
By using qualitative method with phenomenological approach to answer research
questions as follow how they constructed their self-concept, how influential are
the people around them in the process of social interaction. Data were collected
from four people with Obses-sive Compulsive Disorder selected purposively as
key informants.
The results indicated there are several meanings were interpreted by the
people with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder in percepting their disorder, as
follow 1.) Perceptions to the people with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, People
with this disorder are well-known as an intelligent, strong, fortunate and
sensitive; 2.) Perceptions to their selves as people with Obsessive Compulsive
Disorder were concluded that there are two categories of these perceptions as
follow people who believe that disorder is united to them and people who believe
that disorder is a parted unit from their own. 3.) Self-Concepts of people with
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder had been identified as positive and negative
self-concept. People who played a role in the growth process of people with Obsessive
Compulsive Disorder have a major influence on their identity construction
process. In establishing social relationships, people with Obsessive Compulsive
Disorder tend to be introvert and often achieving the labeling due to its position
in the interaction that later will be known as their identity. Other findings from
this research indicated level of acceptance for their condition as people with
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder also affects their construction of identity.
Research findings that explained how people with Obsessive Compulsive
Disorder constructed their social identity might be able to be referred as guidance
for us to be more prudent in developing communication and interpersonal
relationships for better quality of life.
