Descriptive Text by Using Romantic Material (A Classroom Action Research in the Eighth Grade of SMP N 1 Jaten in the Academic year 2016/2017).Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta 2018.
The objective of the study is to investigate whether or not the use of Romantic Material can improve the students’ writing skill; and to describe the class situation when Romantic Material was implemented in teaching writing to the eighth grade students.
In the research, the researcher uses a classroom action research. The media which is used is Romantic Material. The procedure of the research consists of identifying the problems, planning the action, implementing the action, observing the action, reflecting the action, and revising plan. The research is conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of three meetings. In collecting the data, the researcher uses qualitative and quantitative method. The qualitative data is collected from observation, field note, and photograph. The quantitative data is collected from the questionnaire and tests.
Improving the Students’ Skill in Writing is influenced by many indicators of writing. There are many indicators based on many theories, 1)Content, 2)Organization, 3)Grammar, 4)Vocabulary, and 5)Mechanics.
