ABSTRACT
The thesis entitled “The Influence of Numbered Heads Together (NHT) Cooperative Learning Model using Realistic Mathematics Education on Mathematics result outcome of Linear and Nonlinear Equations in One Variable with Students of Class VII in Islamic State Junior High School Tunggangri 2016/2017” is written by Sefima Dea Fortunaningtyas, NIM. 2814133174, supervisor by Ummu Sholihah M.Si
Keyword: Numbered Heads Together (NHT), Realistic, Students Result Outcome
It is common phenomenon that many people consider mathematics as bored and scary subject. It is caused by the learning process’ mistakes that tend to be centered on the teacher and is considered less interesting. Moreover, learning model considered unfit with material very influences students’ interest in study. As a result it affects students’ performance. In this case, teacher has to develop his or her creative idea to create learning model which is interesting and suitable with material taught. One of the ways is using Numbered Heads Together (NHT) Cooperative Learning Model which centers on study group. In this model, every student has different task according to the number he or she gets.
The aims of this research are (1) to figure out whether or not the influence of Numbered Heads Together (NHT) Cooperative Learning Model using Realistic Mathematics Education on mathematics result outcome of linear and nonlinear equations in one variable with students of class VII in Islamic State Junior High School Tunggangri 2016/2017 (2) to figure out how big the influence of Numbered Heads Together (NHT) Cooperative Learning Model using Realistic Mathematics Education on mathematics result outcome of linear and nonlinear equations in one variable with students of class VII in Islamic State Junior High School Tunggangri 2016/2017.
This study uses quantitative approach to the type of quasi-experimental research. The techniques used are observation, testing and documentation. The data analysis use instrument test using validity test and reliability test, prerequisite test using homogeneity test and normality test, and hypothesis test using independent sample t-test and calculating of effect size.
