The Place of this field observation is at SMP Kristen 2 Eben Haezer Salatiga,
Jendral Sudirman street, number 111 b Salatiga, especially in the Office
Administration section.
C. ACTIVITY
In doing a three-day observation, the writer did some activities. On the first day
of the field observation, the writer focus on the interview that was begun from
07.00 am until 11.00 am. After that, the writer worked on a given task that was
compiling name list of students, however it hadn’t been finished, so the writer
continued it at home. On the second day, the writer conducted observations in
the library regarding with the financial statements and correspondence with Mrs.
Christanti. She is the former administration staff who used to handling of out
letter. On the third day, the writer only conducted interviews and observations
from 07.00 am until 9:00 am.
It’s because at 11.30 am all of employees, starting from the principal to the
students will carry out "Life in" (School event) so we have to prepare and
administration section also included in the committee, so they should prepare all
matters relating to the event.
D. THINGS THAT SUPPORT AND BARRIER DURING
IMPLEMENTATION OF THE FIELD STUDY
Things that support during this observation are:
1. The writer has an easy access to do the observation at the school.
2. During the field observation, the writer directly study with the head of the
office. So the writer got answer of the questions directly and got many
information about the office.
3. The Head of the office and also the Interviewee of this study has a
Secretary background, that also helped the writer very much.
4. The theory and questions had been prepared before doing the study.
Because of that when the writer was doing the field observation, the writer
had been well prepared and could focus to the observation.
5. The writer got many data and information appropriate with the topic of this
report.
The thing that barrier during doing this study that are:
1. Some difficulty in searching the data because all data haven’t arranged in
one spot and not orderly arranged, so it was rather difficult to find them,
especially for new people at the office
2. Limited human resource. Personnel administration was handled only by
one person who also become the head of the administration. She did not
only handle daily correspondence but also served guests who wanted to
meet with the principal and served students and as well as dealt with
various school affairs.
In implementing this field study observation the writer has studied and
learned many things, especially about the administration. In line with the
purpose of the field observation, the writer realized that situation in the real
working field is sometimes different with the theory sudents achieved in the
campus. Therefore, the writer should equip himself with skills and knowledge
to become a professional person in entering the real working world.
