Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara self-regulation dengan
communication apprehension mahasiswa Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Partisipan berjumlah 400 orang yang terdiri dari 248 mahasiswa perempuan dan 152 mahasiswa laki-laki. Penelitian ini juga dilakukan untuk melihat apakah terdapat perbedaan antara self-regulation dan
communication apprehension pada mahasiswa laki-laki dan mahasiswa perempuan serta pada
mahasiswa tingkat awal, tingkat pertengahan, dan tingkat akhir. Instrumen pada penelitian ini adalah The Self-Regulation Questionnaire (SRQ) untuk mengukur self-regulation dan Personal
Report of Communication Apprehension (PRCA-24) untuk mengukur communication
apprehension. Data kemudian diolah menggunakan model Rasch dengan software Winsteps.
Reliabilitas The Self-Regulation Questionnaire (SRQ) sebesar 0.84 dan Personal Report of
Communication Apprehension (PRCA-24) sebesar 0.96. Untuk mengetahui hubungan
self-regulation dengan communication apprehension data dianalisis menggunakan pearson product
moment dengan bantuan SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang
negatif antara self-regulation dengan communication apprehension dengan nilai korelasi pearson
sebesar -0.5234. Penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan self-regulation
dan communication apprehension berdasarkan jenis kelamin dan periode masa kuliah.

CORELATION BETWEEN SELF-REGULATION WITH COMMUNICATION APPREHENSION
STUDENTS IN INDONESIAN UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION

This research aims to investigate the correlation between self-regulation with communication apprehension students in Indonesian University of Education. Participants were 400 people consisting of 248 female students and 152 male students. They are was 17-25 years old. The research also done to see if there are differences of self-regulation and communication apprehension between female students and male students and also between students early grade, middle grade, and final grade. The research used The Self-Regulation Questionnaire (SRQ) to measure self-regulation, and Personal Report of Communication Apprehension (PRCA-24) to measure communication apprehension. Data then processed use the model rasch with winsteps software. The Self-Regulation Questionnaire (SRQ) reliability is 0.84 and Personal Report of Communication Apprehension (PRCA-24) is 0.96, then to know correlation of self-regulation with communication apprehension data analyzed using pearson product moment with SPSS software. The research results show that there is a negatif correlation between self-regulation with communication apprehension with correlation value pearson of -0.523. The study also shows that there isn’t a difference self-regulation and communication apprehension between female students and male students, nor the difference between students early grade, middle grade, and final grade.
