Kecamatan Gempol merupakan salah satu kecamatan di Kabupaten Cirebon yang sebagian lahannya mengalami alih fungsi lahan pertanian dalam proyek pembangunan jalan Tol Cipali. Adanya alih fungsi pada lahan pertanian produktif akan menimbulkan pengaruh terhadap kesejahteraan petani. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu, mengidentifikasi pengaruh alih fungsi lahan pertanian terhadap tingkat kesejahteraan petani dan menganalisis upaya petani untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraannya. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan sampel sebanyak 75 petani. Hasil penelitian menunjukan adanya penurunan tingkat kesejahteraan petani setelah adanya alih fungsi lahan pertanian terutama pada aspek perekonomian. Perhitungan analisis regresi juga menunjukan bahwa penurunan kesejahteraan petani dipengaruhi oleh adanya alih fungsi lahan pertanian. Upaya yang dilakukan petani untuk dapat mempertahankan dan meningkatkan kesejahteraannya adalah dengan cara mencari mata pencaharian sampingan dan meminimalisir pengeluaran.

Gempol sub-district is one of the sub-district in Cirebon district which is the half of the land affected by agriculture land conversion in Cipali highway construction project. Directly, in productive agriculture land conversion will have an impact towards the welfare of farmers. The purpose of this research is, to identify the effect of agriculture land conversion towards the welfare levels of farmers and to analyze the efforts of farmers to improve their welfare. The method of this research is using descriptive quantitative method with the sample as many 75 of farmers. The result of this research showed a directly decreased of welfare levels after the agriculture land conversion, mainly in economic aspect. The measurement of regretion analysis also showed that the decline in the welfare of farmers affected by the presence of agricultural land conversion. The effort that has been made by the farmers to maintain and increase their welfare is seeking another job and minimize the expenditure.
