DENGUE SHOCK SYNDROME IN A 6-YEARS OLD HIV INFECTED BOY: A CASE REPORT

Abstract
HIV co-infection with dengue fever or dengue shock syndrome in children are very rarely found or reported. In this case report, we describe a six years old boy who received highly active antiretroviral therapy developed co-infection with dengue shock syndrome in 2014. Based on World Health Organization, criteria for a case of dengue shock syndrome, it was found fever <7 days with positive tourniquet test, thrombocytopenia 98 x 10 e3 / uL, increased hematocrit, shock with began to narrow pulse pressure, blood pressure 90/60 mm Hg, pulse 120 x / min, weak and regular, cold extremities, in accordance with DHF grade III. On physical examination found Cold in the extremities on the feet and hands, rumple leed positive, Capillary refill time was 3 seconds. Chest X ray (Anteroposterior and right lateral Decubity) showed consolidation in the right lung field, right pleural effusion. The IgM and IgG anti dengue serology were positive. Interaction between the lines dengue pathogenesis of HIV infection, and between antiretroviral treatment with dengue infection still can not be explained, but would require further research.
