vi ABSTRACT
Coping strategies to cope and deal with the problem of cervical cancer are performed by each individual, has different ways depending on the situation and conditions at hand. How far the level of success gained from coping strategies that be done, also depends on the individual, on the situation and conditions of each. This study aimed to describe the use of coping on clients with cervical cancers.
Research is descriptive method by using quantitative methods. The study was conducted to 40 respondents in Gynecology Clinic Hasan Sadikin Hospital Bandung by using accidental sampling technique. Data was collected using cope scale inventory consists of 60 item. Analysis of the results processed by tabulation, then percentized and construe.
Results of research the highest type of coping is religion coping with 89,6% and the lowest is alcohol and drugs with 30,3%. The use of religion coping is high due to cervical cancer, especially in stage III and IV respondents taken one terminal defect. This is corroborated by the opinions Hawari (2005) which states a positive or negative attitude towards a person or a situation faced calamity affected by how much appreciation for religious affiliation.
Based on the research suggestions presented the nursing profession need to empower rois (spiritual nurses) to assist cancer patients in their believes, especially stage III and IV, Hospital to facilitate psychological and spiritual well by nurses and other professions involved in the care of patients, and also need to conducted research on the relationship of religious coping cervical cancer stages.
