Keywords: English Novice Teachers, Student Disruptive Behaviors, Teaching Challenges.

The role of a teacher who is able to effectively handle classroom management, for the novice teachers, it is not simple to face various kinds of challenges during the learning process in the classroom, particularly in the context of learning English.

The main goal of this study is to find out what problems novice teachers have with classroom behavior in Junior High School students and how they deal with those problems when teaching English. Then, the qualitative research method was used, as the type of research which described through descriptive qualitative research.

This research conducted at the Islamic Junior High School of Darul Istiqamah Barabai for Girls Barabai. The result of this study indicate two finding result are the challenges arise in the classroom and how the novice teacher overcome it. Which concluded that the challenges of these student behaviors are; do not take an active part in class by ignoring the teacher's instructions, putting down head on the table during the teacher explains (Falling asleep), talking with tablemates while the teacher is explaining, exhibit boredom emotions, walk around the class, refusing teacher's instructions, ridicule and laugh the mistakes of other students. As for the several ways used by the English novice teachers in overcoming with them as a way of their classroom management divided into several actions; setting the classroom rules, giving advice and motivations, verbal reprimanding, and creating the interesting class atmosphere.

Guru mempunyai peran yang mampu menangani pengelolaan kelas secara efektif, bagi guru pemula tidaklah mudah menghadapi berbagai macam tantangan selama proses pembelajaran di kelas, khususnya dalam konteks pembelajaran bahasa Inggris. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui masalah apa yang dialami guru pemula dengan perilaku kelas siswa dan bagaimana mereka mengatasi masalah tersebut saat mengajar bahasa Inggris. Kemudian digunakan metode penelitian kualitatif, sebagai jenis penelitian yang dideskripsikan melalui penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Penelitian ini dilakukan di MTs Darul Istiqamah Barabai Puteri Barabai. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan dua hasil temuan yaitu tantangan yang muncul di kelas dan bagaimana guru pemula mengatasinya. Yang menyimpulkan bahwa tantangan perilaku siswa tersebut adalah; tidak berperan aktif di kelas dengan mengabaikan instruksi guru, meletakkan kepala di atas meja saat guru menjelaskan (tertidur), berbicara dengan teman semeja saat guru sedang menjelaskan, menunjukkan emosi bosan, berjalan-jalan di sekitar kelas, menolak instruksi guru , mengejek dan menertawakan kesalahan siswa lain. Adapun beberapa cara yang digunakan oleh para guru bahasa Inggris pemula dalam mengatasinya sebagai cara pengelolaan kelas mereka dibagi menjadi beberapa tindakan; menetapkan peraturan kelas, memberikan nasihat dan motivasi, teguran lisan, dan menciptakan suasana kelas yang menarik.
