Background
Use this form to apply for the Cambridge Pre-U Diploma for candidates who want to substitute up to two accredited level 3 syllabuses, from other exam boards, for Cambridge Pre-U Principal Subjects. This application must be submitted by the Centre at which the candidate sat the Cambridge Pre-U Global Perspectives and Research (GPR) and Principal Subject exams. We will accept applications after the outcome of any result enquiries for up to 13 months.
Cambridge Pre-U Diploma requirements
To get the Cambridge Pre-U Diploma, candidates must have minimum passing grades in: • the Cambridge Pre-U GPR, and
• at least three Cambridge Pre-U Principal Subjects.
In place of Pre-U Principal Subjects a candidate can substitute up to two of the following accredited level 3 syllabuses, providing they are not more than 13 months old:
• Advanced A Level syllabuses1 (excluding AS Awards and GCE General Studies) • IBO Higher Level syllabuses
• SQA Advanced Higher syllabuses.
There is a full list of accredited level 3 syllabuses that can be used towards the Cambridge Pre-U Diploma in the
Cambridge Guide to Making Entries booklet, available from the ‘Support Materials’ section of CIE Direct.
The Cambridge Pre-U Diploma must be awarded in the same series the candidate completes Cambridge Pre-U GPR.
Providing evidence
Together with this form please submit copies of the statements of results for any of the syllabuses the candidate wants to substitute. Make sure the copies are signed by the Head of Centre to confirm the validity of the
information.

The fees we charge for this service are in the fees list available from the ‘My Messages’ section of CIE Direct. Please do not send any payment with this form. We will invoice your Centre for the cost of each application you make.
