Itseemed impossibleto millions ofAmericans in1980thatthehostagesinIranwouldever returnhome.NegotiationsfailedAnat- temptedrescue faded.Evenprayersseemed uselessinthissituation.However,itdidnot seem soimpossiblewhenthehostagesre- turnedhome,aliveandwell.
For years, therewasonly a slight possibility thatNASAcouldever design,buildandput intooperation aspaceshuttle that could trans- portmenandwomenintoouterspace ona regular basis.
The doubtdiminished,however,onPalm Sun- day 1981 whenthespaceshuttle,Columbia was launchedinto orbit.Thatflighthasbeen repeatedmany times

apromisingop- portunity for science.Manythingshavepresentedthemselvesas impossibilitiesoverthecourseofhistory.
However,these impossibilitieshave turned into possibilities,whenmanypositivepeoplefound opportunityinimpossibility.Thesepositive people,determinedtoaccomplishtheirtask, acknowledged success whenthey said."This ismyquest,thisismychancetoreachmy goal,Iamdeterminedtorealize thisdream.

LastfallasIpreparedforthe interviewsIwould undergohereinKansasCity.Ioftenfound myselfunsureas lo the actualsuccessof this, anotherdreamintheFFA-thedreamtobe- comea national officer.One dayafterclasses atcollege,Ireturnedhome, checkedmymail- box and founda letterfroma friend.Within theletter,Ifoundapoemwhichseemedto inspiremetocontinueinquest ofmydreams.
