Discovery – These tour stops demonstrate the basic research involved in identifying genes and chemicals that have insecticidal or herbicidal properties. Plenty of time is available to answer your questions from two family farm operators who have grown their businesses over the past decade. This tour of one of the industry's top animal pharmaceutical companies will touch on Pre-development – ​​This tour.

Development – ​​These tours highlight the activities carried out during development to show the extensive environmental and health assessments carried out during product development prior to launch. Students will learn about the confectionary process from purchasing and production through shipping and even get to make their own chocolate during the tour.

CAREER SUCCESS TOUR DESCRIPTIONS

Located one mile apart, students will have the opportunity to experience two different animal farms in one tour. We will cover how Elanco's products lead to the production of healthier and safer food and animals for you. The tour will start in the grandstand area with a brief history of the track and tour of the television studio, stewards.

A trip to the jockey's quarters will allow FFA members into the jockeys' locker room. A driving tour is taken throughout the barn area to show the various aspects of the facility such as track maintenance, dormitories, blacksmith shop, testing barn for urine and blood collection from horses and the racing office facilities. Topics of discussion will include training, population management and techniques used to successfully manage and breed endangered species in the zoo.

Learn how researchers and students from the Center for Earth and Environmental Sciences (CEES) and the Department of Earth Sciences at IUPUI are improving water quality and protecting drinking water resources through technologically advanced research and ecosystem restoration in urban environments. Through the Central Indiana Water Resources Partnership, CEES and Veolia Water Indianapolis, a drinking water provider for central Indiana, are studying central Indiana's groundwater, streams, reservoirs and associated watersheds to improve drinking water quality and promote environmental stewardship and education. FFA members will have the opportunity to learn about the revolutionary use of ethanol in the headline-grabbing IndyCar series.

17 Ethanol Sponsored IndyCar for Rahal Letterman Racing will discuss the ways ethanol is being promoted through the Indy-Car Series and the process by which the fuel is created, from the farm field to the processing plant to the IndyCar fuel tank.

Convention Tours

When considering a career focused on agriculture, you will gain some insight into aspects of the business that you may not have considered. Participants will interact with horticultural staff and learn about caring for the botanical collection in the gardens and zoo. Discussion topics will include conserving endangered plants in Indiana, learning about plants in the growing Midwest region, and seeing how this beautiful landmark combines the best gardening ideas, plant information, and inspiring design to serve the needs of our visitors.

Tractor Supply Company (TSC) is America's leading brand of farm and ranch stores. Founded in 1938 as a mail-order tractor parts company, TSC owns and operates more than 700 stores in more than 33 states, delivering daily farm and ranch maintenance supplies to a targeted customer base. Students will tour a 750,000-square-foot distribution center that supplies nearly 200 tractor-equipment stores and learn about career opportunities they could have in accounting, IT, human resources, logistics, transportation, merchandising, retail, or distribution. , but is still tied to the world of agriculture.

Experience an opportunity to chat with the Land and Livestock Manager as he takes a behind-the-scenes tour of the farm and explains organic farming and husbandry methods. EDUCATIONAL TOURS DESCRIPTIONS

Come see the beginnings of your organization and understand what makes your organization so great. Join us at the World's Largest Children's Museum for an exploration into Dinosaur Biotechnology and Science. Then go behind the scenes and meet our resident paleontologist to learn about the unique dinosaur fossils in the Dinosphere.

See the fabrication processes involved in the production of feed and grain bins and other metal components at the Brock plant. Visitors will also get an insight into the products seen being produced and their uses in the field. Located on the lower level of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument, the museum displays various artifacts and information from the Civil War.

Videos covering camp life, battles and the arduous task of marching help the visitor understand the soldier's experience. See the 1886 farm in operation, including draft horses, Jersey cows, pigs and sheep. Also explore the 1836 Prairietown site where the oxen work and see the Merino sheep, Durham cattle, Ossabaw Island pigs and Dunghill chickens.

The museum represents the beginnings of scientific psychiatry and modern medicine, while the building itself is the oldest existing pathology facility in the country and is on the National Register of Historic Places. This is a curator-led tour that takes FFA students to places in the museum rarely seen by the general public. From its beginnings as Lincoln Technical Institute in 1946 to its current status as one of the nation's largest providers of career education and training, Lincoln Educational Services Corporation (“Lincoln”) strives to provide students with the quality, practical skills and training they need to succeed in an ever-changing employment landscape.

In Indianapolis, Lincoln College of Technology has been in its new location since 2004 and was founded in Indy in the early 1960s. See how a determined farming family carved out a niche market by transforming a farm into a playground where city folk can experience the farming environment and get a taste of country life. Since 1971, more than a hundred methane gas wells have been injected directly into the landfill's solid waste, extracting the methane gas and transferring it to Crossroads Greenhouse, one of the largest methane gas-controlled greenhouses in the country.

Experience an autumn tour with the company's 400 breeding ewes, learn about artificial insemination and see our modern facilities, including a full flock of lambs.
