sociai cohesion: City heritage: Muslim community
The development or globaliZation has been encouraged social changing or the city. The less social behaviour occured in the daily or urban community and has became a preferred life style. This situation vall be a senouse threat for the urban social life. A good city should be able to create many places for its people. that could make people feel comford and feel like home to live inside. A place expresses its local culture has potential to be a local identity. Locatity is an imporant point that is needed by a nation to attracn roles in globalization era The characteristic of muslim city is a place to muslim community live in that do the ldlamic snanan well. Since in tile 111h century the region of north coast of Java has been known as an entrance gate of Islam teaching in Indonesia. The region of Demak and kucus are the old city which are saving many artefact and tradition of living of muslim community. Kauman is an important place related to this case. The purpose of this paper is to describe the phenomena of Muslim residence present in Demak and Kudus, using descriptive qualitative methods. The result is that me existence of Muslim residence in this region occured because of the strong support of coastal economic. There is a considerable difference between the Muslim residence in Demak and in Kudus. The Muslim residence in Demak develops vath the character of hierarchical. dependent society; vmile in Kudus develops an egalitarian and independent character of residence. In Kudus known the social kinship
of 'Gusjigang, while in Demak emerged the Kasepuhan & Notobratan kinship which
was the heir of Sunan Kalijaga. The characteristic of the two Muslim cmes on the north coast of Java shows the uniqueness of Muslim cities that are not found in other areas.

Hotels and tourism play an important role in the urban economy in the modern era (Ben-David, Teitler-Regev, & Tillman, 2016). This phenomenon can not be separated from the role of hotels as a facility and container of community activities in the tourism (Assaf, Josiassen, &
Agbola, 2015; Madanoglu & Ozdemir, 2016; Z. Yang & Cai, 2016). The hotel services are thriving and providing convenience for tourists especially in digital offerings which greatly affect the number of requests (De Pelsmacker, van Tilburg, & Holthof, 2018). Furthermore, the success factors of the hotel businesses are the location and marketing, especially the ones in the tourist destinations (Adam & Amuquandoh, 2013; Lado-Sestayo & Fernandez-Castro, 2018). Therefore, locations are the crucial aspect because it affects accessibility and hotels' revenues.
Today, hotels do not only function as an inn but also function as the center of various tourism supporting activities (Rogerson, 2013; Shoval, McKercher, Ng, & Birenboim, 2011 ). The rising number of meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) is the factor behind the increasing demands for hotels. The hotels start to offer lodging packages with exciting MICE facilities. In international scale, MICE is not only seen as regular activities of urban society, but they are also service industry that has great potential for regional development (Whitford, 2009). The presence of MICE has given a variety of colors to the type of service industry activities that are identical with the provision of services. Economically, MICE is a highly contributing business that absorbs labors and the flow of goods (Hermawan & Syahbana, 2015).
Interesting problems occur in the hotel businesses especially in land availability. The number of MICE activities is increasing in the city centers such as commercial and administration centers, but the land availability for hotels is limited. Furthermore, the increased land prices in the city centers have brought impact to hotel growth in some countries. Although the land is Keywords: Ex-ante evaluation, Hotel, Aviation Safety, Kaliwungu District, Semarang Peri-Urban Area Abstract. This paper conveys the findings on hotel buildings evaluation in the peri-urban of Semarang based on ex-ante evaluation. Ex-ante is an evaluation model before project activities are implemented to minimize development impacts. Evaluation of altitude was done with three models, namely the ratio of floor area (FAR), Angle of Light Obstruction (ALO), and building height calculation in the airport area applicable in Indonesia. Furthermore, the evaluation of the strategic value of the location with three criteria was the proximity of industrial zone, accessibility, and proximity to tourist destinations. This study successfully answered the question of maximal height rules and the number of stories allowed for hotel buildings in peri-urban Semarang. The result suggests the regulation of building height in Kaliwungu especially for hotel buildings in aviation safety area. Maximum height allowed is 32.5 m or 8 stories. The existing regulations have not regulated these issues, so collaborative planning should be carried out between the government of Semarang City and Kendal Regency. With collaborative planning, problems in both regions, especially regarding the height of buildings such as hotels can be coordinated.

However, along with the development of time. science and human technology, humans not only use nature directly as a place to live, but do engineering on the resources around them.
The engineering has shifted so that humans exploit nature such as excessive use of forest wood to build homes without reforestation. The impact of natural exploitation is the lack of available resources to build a place to live and then use substitute materials. Replacement ArashVahedi (2009) mentions, "The history of architecture begins with getting help and ideas from nature directly, so that with the development of technology this increasingly affects human life". The beginning of the human life settled, humans use caves as a place to live, they use natural elements directly to shelter. As humans develop to learn from nature, humans begin to make a place to live like a bird that makes a nest by gathering branches of leaves. Humans also imitate nature by utilizing environmental material to make a place to live. The simplicity of knowledge in processing and the use of nature which is learned directly from the way nature uses, forms a work of human beings that is in harmony with environmental conditions.

Abstract. This paper discusses the application of Biomimicry Architecture to the design of adaptive structural designs. Today, with the development of technology and materials, architectural Biomimicry has been widely used in particular to support sustainability building systems because the approach used by biomimicry is to study nature, which nature has a principle to always live in harmony with its environment. Living harmony done by nature is one of them is the ability of natural adaptation. A number of applications of the ability of natural adaptation, by architects have been widely applied to building design, but the application of building design still tends to aesthetic and functional aspects, while architecture also has strength aspects that must be considered by architects. This aspect of strength is manifested in a good and safe building structure design. Based on this problem, this study then used content analysis method with qualitative inductive type. The study was conducted by analyzing written information data that discussed the case of selected buildings, namely The Eden Project Building, The Gherkin Tower and The EastgateCenter. The findings of the study are descriptive explanations related to how the adaptive application applied by architects to the design of the building structure uses natural inspiration. The findings of the study include three types of application, first the application of the principle of adaptive structure that adjusts the conditions I site around the environment is built, the second application of the principle of adaptive structure that adjusts to the weather around the built environment, and the third application of the principle of adaptive structure that adapts to the climate around the built environment. The benefits of this research are expected to provide insight for architects to design buildings that are adaptive to the environment, especially from structural systems and can expand the science of Biomimicry Architecture.
