Fur
of colored areaof pelagegray (Ridgway, No. 6) through a littlemore
than basal half, that of un- colored areawhitetobase. Tail uniformpale buffthroughout.Skull.
The
skull closely resemblesthatof Gerbillus przewalskii, but the rostrum appears to bemore
slender (particularlywhen
viewedfrom
below)and
the braincase longerinproportiontoitsbreadth. In eachof the three specimensof O. arenicolor themastoid breadth isdis tinctly lessthanthe distancefrom
posterioredgeof interparietal tonaso- frontal suture, whileintheparatypeof G. przewalskii itisequalto this distance. Mandibleand
teeth as in G.przewalxkii.Measurements. External
