CALL FOR PAPERS
The International Academic Conference on the topic of “Climate Change Resilience and Disaster Risk Reduction”with the financial support of Asian Universities Alliance will be hosted at the University of Yangon, Yangon, Myanmar on 5 December 2019.
Since the role of doing research in universities is crucial for disclosing local and global problems of environmental concerns. Research collaboration among universities on climate change resilience and disaster risk reduction is an effective factor to respond local needs of respective countries. And also it plays crucial role in socio-economic development and ecological stability of a country.
We sincerely invite scholars in relevant fields from AUA member universities or non-AUA universities or organizations which obtained special invitation from UY to submit their papers, which will be reviewed for selection. We look forward to welcoming participants to the conference.
I. Theme
The Theme: Climate Change Resilience and Disaster Risk Reduction
The theme of the conference is to explore the diverse methods and approaches for resilience strategies of climate change and disaster risk management, aiming to strengthen and expand the collaborations on the vulnerability, hazard and risk assessment of climate change and natural disaster among AUA member universities, and the regional partners; to share experiences of distribution and application of information of climate change vulnerability and disaster risk for resilience and mitigation purposes; to find better ways to mitigate the impacts of climate change and natural disasters; and to acquire improve communication and knowledge exchange among researchers, policymakers and practitioners as academic/science-policy- practice interfaces.

Venue: University of Yangon, Diamond Jubilee Hall, Yangon, Myanmar
III. Eligibility
1. Faculty from AUA member universities Scholars from non-AUA universities or organizations which obtain special invitation from UY
2. Research abstract and full-text paper (8~12 pages) that conforms to the topic of “Climate Change Resilience and Disaster Risk Reduction”, unpublished papers are welcomed.
3. Author must own complete intellectual property rights of the research, without plagiarism or other academic fraudulence.
4. Papers must be written in English. All of the oral presentations must be conducted in English.

2. Full text of the paper (8 ~ 12 pages) edited with Word. Style templates should be referred as shown in (Formatting Instructions of UY Academic Conference 2019). Papers should be in two formats.

V. Submission Deadline
Abstract: 16:00 (UTC+06:30), 25 August 2019 Full Paper: 16:00 (UTC+06:30), 25 September 2019 VI. Subscription
The information related to the Conference will be distributed by the Organizing Committee to participants via email.
VII. Review
Experts from relevant fields will be invited as reviewers. The papers will be evaluated on criteria including creativity, diversity, contribution to the field, etc.
The conference intends to accept approximately (30) papers. Applicants will be informed of the review result by before 10 October 2019.
Note: If the number of AUA member universities will not achieve up to 5, the conference cannot be held with AUA funding. For this case, UY will inform to the scholars by before 1 October 2019 separately. UY will hold the conference with own funding. But apart from the registration fee, all of the expenses includes airfare, accommodation, transportation and other personal expenses will be borne by the participants themselves.
VIII. Financial Support
UY will provide following expenses with the grant of AUA financial support;
1. Accommodation for up-to-two nights (4 - 5 December) 2. Conference venue near UY Campus
3. Official dinner and meals during the forum
4. Airport transfer on arrival, departure, and local transportation 5. Registration fee and conference kits for all participants
Note: Airfare and other personal expenses will be borne by the participants themselves.
