This thesis is entitled "THE EFFECTS OF COST, ACADEMIC AND REPUTATION, GEOGRAPHICAL FACTOR AND THE INFLUENCE OF OTHERS IN THE CHOICE OF PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES IN INDONESIA BY 12TH GRADE STUDENT: A CASE STUDY BY YOS SUDARSO KARAWONE". The respondent for this study are the 12th grade students of Yos Sudarso Karawang Senior High School. The focus of this research is to find out whether cost, academic and reputation, geographical factors and influence of others influence the 12th grade students of Yos Sudarso Karawang's decision to choose private university in Indonesia/ and which variable is the dominant one.
The questionnaires were distributed to the 12th grade students at Yos Sudarso Karawang Senior High School. The result of this research is that the 12th grade students of Yos Sudarso Karawang Senior High School consider academic reputation as the factor that greatly influences their decision to choose private universities in Indonesia.
Chapman (1986) in his research, "Toward a Theory of College Selection: A Model of College Search and Choice Behavior" stated 5 components of the college selection process to describe the stages through which students move to decide on their colleges. Parental influence can lead to such a realization on the part of the student long before the high school years. There are several institutional characteristics that influence the student's decision to choose the college, which are geographic factor, "wealth" of the institution, size of the institution, price variable, intended large availability.

According to Burns & Bush (2003), primary data was information that was developed or collected by the researcher specifically for the current research project. The researcher collected the primary data by using a questionnaire that was distributed to the students of Yos Sudarso Karawang Senior High School. Through this research, the researcher tends to focus on investigating and explaining the findings based on the questionnaire.
According to Burns & Bush (2003), secondary data is previously collected by someone other than the researcher and/or for some purpose other than the research project in question. Burns & Bush (2003) stated that the sample was subject to the population and the sample unit belongs to the basic level of investigation. According to data provided by Yos Sudarso Senior School, the population of Yos Sudarso Karawang was 99 students.
If the results of the experiment apply to the "real world" outside the experimental setting. Multiple regression can also be used to provide estimates of the effect of each variable in combination with other variables. Including the sum of the explanatory variables in the regression analysis would e.g. lead to this problem.
By using t-test, the researcher can find out which variable (factors) have the greater influence on the student's decision to choose the private universities in Indonesia. To calculate the reliability, the researcher must use Cronbach's Alpha for each variable. According to Ghozali (2001), the instrument has a high reliability if the value of the coefficient > 0.60.
Here it seems that the problem is the different culture, not all factors can be applied in Indonesia, so researchers should do so.

Model Evaluation 1. Normal Probability Plot
- Heteroscedasticity
- Multicollinearity
The researcher concludes that the data collected has a linear relationship model and the standardized deviation has already followed the normal standardized distribution. To find out heteroscedasticity, it can be inferred from the scatter plot and table. The scatter plot in Figure 4.4 shows that there is no wavy, broadened and narrowed pattern, so there is no heteroscedasticity, and the data was normally distributed.
According to Everitt & Skrondal (2010), Tolerance is described as a term used in stepwise regression for the proportion of sum-f squares about the mean of an explanatory variable that is not accounted for by other variables already included in the regression equation. The closer the tolerance is to 1, it means that little multicollinearity occurs, conversely, the closer the values are to 0, it explained the existence of multicollinearity. 30 processed by SPSS, if the value of VIF >5, it can be concluded that there is multicollinearity there.

0.000, which is lower than α = 0.05, it can be concluded that the general independent variable (cost, academic reputation, geographical factors, influence of others) have significant influence on the decision influence of 12th-grade students of Yos Sudarso in choosing Private Universities in Indonesia. All independent variables to Yos Sudarso 12th grade students' decision in choosing private universities in Indonesia. 34 The researcher can conclude that all the independent variables are related to the dependent variable and in general, the independent variables take a major role in influencing the decision of Yos Sudarso Karawang 12th grade student in choosing Private Universities in Indonesia.
Cost (x1) for Yos Sudarso Karawang 12th grade student decision when choosing private universities in Indonesia Decision when choosing private universities in Indonesia. From the table above it can be seen that the cost effect was positively correlated with the Yos Sudarso Karawang 12th grade students Sudarso's decision to choose Private Universities in Indonesia, which B=0.12, it means that if the cost increases (in the cost case, that means the lower the cost, the better it is) by 1, the student's decision will be affected and increased by 0.012. Academic reputation (x2) vs. Yos Sudarso Karawang 12th grade student decision in choosing private universities in 12th grade student decision in choosing private universities in Indonesia.
Academic Reputation to Yos Sudars Grade 12 Students' Decision in Choosing Private Universities in Indonesia. Table 4.6 shows that academic reputation has a significant influence on Yos Sudarso Karawang's 12th grade students in choosing private universities in Indonesia. Academic reputation towards student's decision in choosing private universities in Indonesia Source: SPSS 16.0 and primary data.
Geographical factor for Yos Sudarso 12th grade students' decision in choosing private universities in Indonesia. Table 4.7 shows that the geographical factor has no significant influence on the Yos Sudarso Karawang 12th grade student's decision in choosing private universities in Indonesia, but it has a positive correlation with the student's decision. The influence of others on Yos Sudarso 12th grade students' decision in choosing private universities in Indonesia.
From table 4.8., it can be seen that the influence of others does not significantly affect the decision of the 12th grade student of Yos Sudarso Karawang to choose Private Universities in Indonesia.
CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION
Conclusion
Recommendation
43 In addition to the recommendations for the private university, the researcher also suggests some recommendations for another researcher who is ready to conduct research similar to this research in the future. For this research, the researcher used only four variables that the researcher believes to be the main factor influencing the student's decision today. However, given that the adjusted r2 that explained these variables covered only 48.3% of the variables influencing the independent variable, there should be other factors that need to be further investigated.
The researcher conducting this research in Yos Sudarso Karawang High School, whose 12th grade students are 99 students (population), for future research, the researcher recommends using a larger population, to increase the validity of data.
