The Approach Control Unit (APP) is responsible for providing air traffic control service for all controlled flight within the TMA/CTR. All aircraft within the Djalaluddin ATZ and Gorontalo CTR must be equipped with radios capable of performing and maintaining two-way communications. Flight information and warning services will only be provided to VFR Flight Operations within the TMA and/or CTR upon request.

Aircraft radio communication failure procedures shall be in accordance with ICAO standard and recommended practice, or. Flying the entire circuit over the aerodrome, the pilot must endeavor to transmit blindly his position, intent etc. to be monitored by Approach, Tower or any other traffic over Gorontalo TMA, CTR and ATZ.
