Check-In Agent (Afra) Theme: Airport Check-In Counter
Hans & Wisnu approaches the check-in counter where Afra is working.
Simple Present Tense
Hans : “Hi, we need to check in for my flight to New York.”
Afra : “Certainly. I assist passengers every day (simple present). May I see your passport and ticket, please?”
Wisnu : “Here they are. Is my luggage okay for check-in?”
Afra : “Let me check.”
Wisnu : “I can’t wait for our holiday.”
Hans : “Me either, I will immortalize every moment we share (simple future).”
Afra : “Your luggage is checked by me (simple present) and it’s allowed weight limit.”
Wisnu : “Nice.”
Hans : “Good to hear it.”
Afra checked Hans and Wisnu's ticket and passport.
Simple Future Tense
Afra : “And your ticket is fine. I will print your boarding pass now (simple future).”
Hans : “Thanks. How long will the security check take?”
Afra : “It will be conducted by the security (simple future) after you go through this counter. Usually, it will take about 15 minutes.”
Wisnu : “Great. Hey, Hans, I will wrap our things first. (simple future)”
Hans : “Alright, I will be waiting here (future continuous tense).”
Afra is printing the boarding pass while Wisnu is getting his things ready.
Afra : “I am printing your boarding pass now (present continuous). Is there anything else you need?”
Hans : “Yes, I am wondering if there is any upgrade available.”
Afra : “I am checking the system for available upgrades (Present continuous). It looks like there is one seat available in business class.”
Hans : “How much is the upgrade?”
Afra : “It is costing an additional Rp 3.000.000. Would you like to proceed with it? (past future)”
Hans : “No, it’s fine. Cause, we actually need two seats, thank you for the information.”
Afra : “Sure, your welcome.”
A few moments later, Wisnu has finished preparing their things.
Wisnu : “Hans, you drop something near the entrace earlier.”
Hans : “Oh, thank you! I didn’t notice. What did I drop?”
Wisnu : “You dropped your wallet. It was founded by another passenger (simple past) and handed over to me.”
Hans : “That’s a relief. I was about to panic. Thanks so much.”
Afra hands over the boarding pass to Hans & Wisnu.
Afra : “Here is your boarding pass. I have also noted your special meal request (present perfect).”
Wisnu : “Great, thank you. We have never been traveled by this airline (present perfect) before.”
Afra : “Every passengers in this airline are being pampered by us (present continuous) always. Have a nice flight for you guys!”
Hans : Thanks, Afra. We appreciate all the help.”
