July 11 - All transactions such as corrections, transfers, budget adjustments, year-end accruals, etc.

Office & Procurement Services:
May 16 - All requisitions are due for fiscal year 2013-14.
June 27 - All Merchandise must be received for fiscal year 2013-14.
Accounts Payable:
June 27 - All merchandise and services must be received and invoiced to the University for fiscal year 2013-14.
July 8 - The cutoff date for travel expense forms that account for travel through June 30th for fiscal year 2013-14.
July 11 - Invoices for fiscal year 2013-14 University One Card Reconciliation for June:
June 20 -Last day for purchases on credit card for fiscal year 2013-14.

If you are planning on hiring CWS students for the 2014-15 academic year, you will need to complete a Federal College Work-Study Position Request/Job Description. Click on the link below to access the form and instructions. The completed forms are due at the Financial Aid Office by Aug. 1 to be included when the Job Board goes active on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014.

Kenyon Road Closure May 6-7
The Town of Alfred would like to inform you that there will be a road closure on Tuesday, May 6 and Wednesday, May 7 2014, on Kenyon Road in the Town of Alfred.
The railroad will be replacing a section of the rail and redoing the crossing at the intersection of Kenyon Road and State Route 21. There will be no way to get through once they start on Tuesday morning so please find an alternate route.
They are planning two days but by chance they have a major problem or bad weather, they will finish on Thursday, May 8, 2014.

Hornell Art Walk Date: Saturday, May 3
Location: at 14 locations throughout downtown Hornell and Shawmut Park. Start at the Community Arts Center (42 Broadway)

The Hornell Art Walk will be an exciting exhibition of work by more than 50 artists throughout downtown Hornell and Shawmut Park. It will take place Saturday May 3 , 2014 from 5 to 9 p.m.
The Hornell Art Walk is a collaboration between Alfred University's Space and Place class (which has been working in Hornell since January), other students and faculty of AU's Sculpture/ Dimensional Studies Division, the City of Hornell, and artists and organizations working in Hornell. The Art Walk features site-specific installations, exhibitions, open studios, the Hornell School District bully-free exhibit, a live iron pour, outdoor sculpture exhibition, a barbecue: come meet Lou, neon light show, and activities for the whole family.
Maps of all locations are available at the Community Arts Center and other locations on the Art Walk (some exhibits have specific running times listed on the maps). A Hornell Area Transit Bus will provide free shuttle service between the Community Arts Center, the Intermediate School, and Shawmut Park between 5 and 9.

Alzheimer's Iron Pour Date: Saturday, May 3
Location: Downtown, Hornell - outside the Creative Arts Center Time: 4-8 P.M.
Cost to Attend: Free/open to public
Sponsored by: Foundry Guild, Sculpture Dimensional Studies, Women's Leadership Center You and members of the community are invited to participate in making your own "RELIEF SCULPTURE." With the help of foundry students you will be able to carve your own unique design which will then be cast in metal.
This is open to adults and children with supervision; anyone can do it for a $10 donation to the charity. Or you can just come watch the action too!
All of the sculptures made will be cast in aluminum that day and participants will be able to take their
"relief sculpture" home with them.
Alongside the casting of the relief sculptures will be several other exciting events including a foundry guild table as well as Alzheimer's Glass and Iron table. Additionally an Alzheimer's Association representative will be present to help rally the community and answer any questions attendees may have about Alzheimer's.
Half of the proceeds will go to the Alzheimer's Association, the other half will go towards the foundry guild's travels to the 7th International Cast Iron Arts Conference in Latvia.

Just Some of My Favorites: A Voice Recital
As a capstone performance (but more of a celebration of music and friendship), "Just Some of My Favorites" is a voice recital by senior Holly Durand.
Holly is a theater major, dance minor from Rehoboth, MA and has been studying vocal performance with Dr. Luanne Crosby for three years.
All of the pieces are various selections from musical theater, including composers Stephen Sondheim, Alan Menken, and Jason Robert Brown.
Featuring other AU students: Jessica Antrobus, Bellisant Corcoran-Mathe, Rebecca Hayes, Nick Labate, and Liam Maillaro. Accompanist is Bo Pang.
This free event begins at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 4 in Susan Howell Hall. Deserts and beverages will be served after the performance.

WILD Whitewater Rafting Trip
Join WILD for a trip down the Genesee River through "The Grand Canyon of the East" and make memories that will last a lifetime.
This is the perfect trip for first-time rafters as the Class II rapids are enjoyable but not too risky. Five and one-half miles of spectacular scenery and fun rapids await you and your fellow paddlers. On warm days, you can cool off body surfing at "New Wave Rapids" or get soaking wet at "The Leap of Faith."
The bus will leave in front of the Powell Campus Center on Sunday, May 11 at 12:30 p.m. The fee is
$40 and covers transportation and rafting. We look forward to having you join us.

Feelings of loss, grief, anxiety, anger, and frustration are common reactions to traumatic events.
Coping with trauma and recovering from post-traumatic stress can be a lengthy process. It is important for those affected to know that they are not alone and
that it is better to work through emotions rather than hide or ignore them.
May is Mental Health Month and attached is information to help you or a loved one cope with the challenges of our daily lives.

The Financial Aid Office is now accepting applications for Summer Federal College Work Study positions. To be eligible to apply you must meet the following criteria:
- Matriculated Student at Alfred University
- Expected to enroll for the 2014-15 academic year
- Filed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid for 2014-15

Get a workout, tone, dance and have fun, all at once with Zumba Toning Fitness classes, held Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 12:45 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room at the Health and Wellness Center.
